With the development of electronic technology and the intelligence and convenience of mobile communication devices, great changes have taken place in people’s communication and working methods.Mobile communication devices such as mobile phones and computers are also used in the workplace to communicate and handle tasks at work.Although this can effectively promote the communication and cooperation among members of the organization and promote the work quickly,it also blurs the boundary between work and non-work.As long as the organization needs it,Employees have to communicate and deal with tasks at work through mobile communication devices during off-duty hours, which leads to the gradual penetration of work into employees’ lives.Especially since the new epidemic, the office collaboration software headed by "Ding Talk" has risen rapidly, making it more and more difficult for employees to break away from work, and electronic communication during nonwork time has become more frequent and unavoidable, which has caused a series of negative effects on employees.Therefore.How to ensure the efficient coordination of tasks, bring high efficiency and convenience to the organization, and reduce its negative effect on employees has become an urgent practical problem to be explored. In recent years, more and more scholars at home and abroad have begun to pay attention to this phenomenon and conduct research. The existing research mainly focuses on the negative effects of linguistic elements and nonlinguistic elements on employees’ emotions and attitudes in the process of electronic communication during nonwork time, but seldom discusses their effects on employees’ out-of-role behaviors, especially positive out-of-role behaviors. In the era of innovation-driven development,it is necessary to explore whether and how employee innovative behavior,as an important positive behavior outside the role that promotes the sustainable development of the organization,is influenced by electronic communication during nonwork time. This study combined the affective event theory and resource conservation theory to establish a relationship model between linguistic elements(emotional tone)and nonlinguistic elements(frequency and time required)of electronic communication during nonwork time, employee innovation behavior, emotional exhaustion and perceived organization support, and puts forward relevant assumptions.Taking employees of various industries as the research object, and puts forward relevant assumptions.Taking employees from all walks of life as the research object, the effective sample data of 352 employees from various industries in Xinjiang,Henan,Hebei,Guangdong and other regions were collected by means of questionnaire survey, and SPSS26.0 and its PROCESS macro program,AMOS24.0 and other tools were used to conduct descriptive statistics, reliability and validity analysis, correlation and regression analysis on the data to test the hypothesis. The analysis found that:(1)The emotional tone, frequency and time required in the process of electronic communication during nonwork time will negatively affect employee innovative behavior, that is,the more negative the emotional tone is,the higher the frequency is,and the longer the time required it takes, the less the employees’ innovative behavior is;(2)Emotional exhaustion plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between emotional tone, frequency, required time and employee innovative behavior;(3)Organizational support can not only regulate the relationship between emotional exhaustion and employee innovative behavior, but also regulate the emotional tone, frequency and time required for electronic communication during nonwork time and the indirect effect of emotional exhaustion on employee innovative behavior. This study theoretically enriches the connotation of electronic communication during nonwork time, further expands the influence effect and boundary conditions of electronic communication during nonwork time, and practically provides theoretical support and new ideas for organizations to weaken the negative influence of off-hours electronic communication and improve employee innovative behavior.
