Research On The Relationship Among Entrepreneurial Ecological Orientation,network Embeddedness,and Organizational Resilience

The entrepreneurial ecosystem is becoming the frontier theoretical framework of entrepreneurship.However,the existing researches are mostly at the macro-mesoscopic level of the system,and there is a lack of research on cross-integration among different levels of the system,which easily leads to the deviation between the behavior of new enterprises and the development direction of the system.Only by integrating into the surrounding entrepreneurial ecosystem can new enterprises make themselves and the system become a whole,so that they can obtain the system welfare and conform to the principle of common interests.However,the research from the perspective of the integration of enterprise and system is relatively rare.Therefore,this study emphasizes that new enterprises need to adopt the strategic orientation of“integration and isomorphism” with the system,and then proposes a new concept of entrepreneurial ecological orientation.In addition,in the current environment of increasing VUCA,adversity events occur frequently.How can entrepreneurial ecological orientation help enterprises to jointly resist crises and cope with environmental uncertainties? The combination of entrepreneurial ecosystem theory and organizational resilience may provide an effective way for start-ups to cope with internal and external shocks.The purpose of this study is to explore the concept of entrepreneurial ecological orientation under the entrepreneurial ecosystem,and to verify the relationship among entrepreneurial ecological orientation,network embeddedness,and organizational resilience.The research of this paper is mainly divided into the following three aspects:Research 1,through the systematic literature review method,this paper sorts out and analyzes the classic literature on the entrepreneurial ecosystem at home and abroad.The paper finds that the current research on the entrepreneurial ecosystem pays more attention to a single level of the system,leading to the lack of interaction and integration research among different levels,which is very easy to cause the separation between new enterprises and the system.In order to avoid being excluded by the system,this study emphasizes the need for new enterprises to adopt the strategic orientation of “mutual integration and isomorphism” with the system,and then proposes a new construction of entrepreneurial ecological orientation.Research 2,in terms of the selection of theoretical construction methods,grounded theory analysis can “capture” the formation process of orientation with a rich contextual perspective,which is suitable for the theoretical conception development of entrepreneurial ecological orientation.Based on the grounded theory method,this study develops a conceptual model of entrepreneurial ecological orientation with “symbiosis”,“legitimacy” and “connectivity” as the core category,preliminarily constructs the theoretical framework of entrepreneurial ecological orientation,and enriches and expands the conceptual connotation of entrepreneurial ecological orientation.Research 3,this paper uses empirical research to further examine the relationship among entrepreneurial ecological orientation,network embeddedness and organizational resilience.The results show that: entrepreneurial ecological orientation has a positive impact on organizational resilience;entrepreneurial ecological orientation has a positive impact on network embeddedness;network embeddedness has a positive impact on organizational resilience;and network embeddedness plays a partial mediating effect between entrepreneurial ecological orientation and organizational resilience.The paper is helpful for new enterprises to achieve the strategic goal of “integration and isomorphism” with the system,and helps entrepreneurs to have a deeper understanding of the mechanism of entrepreneurial ecosystem and entrepreneurial ecological orientation in “turning crisis into opportunity” for new enterprises.This paper provides theoretical reference and practical countermeasures for Chinese new enterprises to improve their management and organizational capabilities under the influence of COVID-19 and other crises.
