Research On The Incubating Process And Impacts Of Cluster Embeddedness On Entrepreneur Talents

Both the industrial cluster and entrepreneurship have become the focus of global researchers and public policy decision since 80th of 20 century. Entrepreneurship has become the driving force behind economic development. Entrepreneurial economy enhanced the development of local economy, increased the job opportunities and contributed to progress of technology significantly. At the same time cluster cultivated much entrepreneurship essential factors because of its geographic agglomeration, knowledge spillover and network effects. Cluster has become the collection of entrepreneur talents. Large amounts of entrepreneur talents are attracted into cluster for its special geographic and industrial advantages. These entrepreneurial activities increase the imitation of other people who cultivate new clusters inversely. Therefore, it became very important for researchers to study the impact of cluster on the entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial performance. It is very important for theory development and practice to study the incubating process and mechanism of cluster on the entrepreneurs by combining the socialist theory, economy theory and management theory.Firstly, based on the review of the relative literature, we introduce the important embeddedness theory in the new social economics to our entrepreneurial research to propose the phenomenon and definition of entrepreneurs'cluster embeddedness, additionally the meaning for it is also analyzed carefully. After that combining economics theory, sociology theory and entrepreneur theory the mechanism of this phenomenon is elaborated. According to this we propose the level and type of cluster embeddedness of entrepreneur which decompose the effecting of cluster on entrepreneur talents into varied embeddedness relationship, including the relation between entrepreneur and public institutions, the relation between entrepreneur and industrial network, and the relation between entrepreneur and his dyadic personal ties.Secondly, the grounded theory method is used to analyze the primary data by the means of depth interview with 10 entrepreneurs in clusters. The whole panorama of various cluster embeddedness are descriptive together with the process analysis is adopted to construct the incubating process of cluster embeddedness on entrepreneur talents. Thirdly, referring to embeddedness theory and entrepreneur theory the incubating mechanism model of cluster embeddedness on entrepreneur talents is constructed. Additionally, the hypotheses that entrepreneurial abilities (opportunity recognition, resource attain, gain legitimacy) play an intermediary role in the effecting effect of cluster embeddedness on the entrepreneurial performance are built. Large amounts of questionnaires are released to entrepreneurs in varied clusters of four cities including Wuhan, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Shanghai. Most of the hypotheses are confirmed.It aims to explore the incubating process and mechanism of cluster on entrepreneur talents from the respective of embeddedness in the paper. The findings will contribute to enhance the embeddedness theory practice, improve the understanding for effecting effects of cluster on entrepreneurs, as well as provide the theoretical and practical reference for potential entrepreneurs and public policy decision.
