| Since the 1990 s,with the continuous expansion of the international economy,China has become the main inflow country of foreign direct investment(FDI)in the world.Theoretically,high-quality FDI not only brings capital and advanced production management experience,but also becomes a source of high-quality innovation through spillover effect,helping regions improve innovation capacity and realize industrial structure optimization and upgrading.In existing literature,there are many studies on the linear relationship between FDI technology spillover,technological innovation and industrial structure upgrading,but few of them are incorporated into a unified nonlinear research framework from the perspective of space.Therefore,based on the gap of existing literature in this research field,this paper carries out theoretical and empirical research.Firstly,the paper clarifies the concepts of FDI technology spillover,technological innovation and industrial structure,and sorts out the endogenous economic growth theory and technological gap theory behind FDI technology spillover and technological innovation.Also expounds the flying geese model and marginal industrial expansion theory behind FDI technology spillover and industrial structure.In the empirical study on the impact of FDI technology spillover on regional innovation capacity,the author take the panel data of 31 Provinces in China from 2012 to 2019 as the research object and combine the spatial effect and threshold effect.In the study of spatial effect,the dependent variable of regional innovation capacity is represented by the number of authorized patent applications,the core explanatory variable is the measured FDI technology spillover.Human capital level,domestic R&D capital stock,and full-time equivalent of scientific research manpower input are selected as control variables.In the study of threshold effect,the degree of trade openness and marketization are selected as the threshold variables.The results show that there is a spatial correlation between regional innovation capacity and FDI technology spillover has a significant positive effect on improving regional innovation capacity.However,there is a certain capacity threshold for the absorption of FDI technology spillover,and only after the threshold value is exceeded,can the experience of foreign advanced technology be used for its own.Finally,the fourth chapter studies the influence of FDI technology spillover on the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure by combining spatial effect and intermediary effect.The results show that the industrial structure rationalization index have spatial correlation.Through the study of intermediary effect,the influence path of FDI technology spillover on industrial structure is deduced: after being absorbed,learned and transformed by the region,FDI technology spillover improves the region’s own innovation ability,and innovation further drives the rational development of industrial structure.At the end of the paper,based on the previous conclusions,author also put forward the corresponding policy suggestions. |
