| The market environment had been effected by the technological changes rapidly,from film cameras to smartphones,from supermarket chains to online shopping,from section management to people-to-people platform organizations,in less than 20 years,the industry environment and management model of enterprises have been decidedly different.Traditional enterprises urgently need to precisely avoid the risk points and enter the opportunity points in the rapidly changing external environment in order to ensure the stable survival and even long-term development of enterprises.However,how to endure the test in the dynamic environment still exists.Existing studies mainly consider organizational evolution from environmental selection or active adaptation unilaterally,although there are theories proposing the co-evolution of environment and organization,the mechanism of the role of environmental selection and organizational adaptation in the process of organizational evolution is still unclear,therefore,this thesis takes Century Innovation as the research object,with cross-functional ambidexterity capacity as the explanatory mechanism,and attempts to reveal the mechanism of environmental selection and organizational adaptation in the process of organizational evolution,so as to provide some reference for the academic and practical fields.This thesis firstly organizes the theories of organizational evolution,ambidexterity capacity,and organizational form management and proposes the framework of this thesis;then we collect public information and field interviews from Century Innovation through multiple channels to obtain first-hand information about Century Innovation,and organize and code the information to analyze the whole process of organizational evolution.The study found that:The external environment,executive traits,organizational resources,and organizational culture all play important roles in organizational evolution.The external environment has an crucial role in driving organizational evolution.Executive traits are the key determinants of organizational evolution.Organizational resources are the foundation of organizational evolution.Organizational culture provides a good development environment for organizational evolution.The organization through cross-functional ambidexterity capacity to achieve environmental selection and organizational adaptation interactions,and ultimately complete the organizational evolution process.Century Innovation roughly through the shareholder value form,elite value form,customer value form and stakeholder value form four organizational stages,in each organizational form stage,Century Innovation always around the product and market two modules alternately use and exploratory activities,in response to environmental selection,and to complete the organizational adaptation process.Throughout the organizational evolution process,Century Innovation’s specialization,process and branding cross-functional ambidexterity capacity help the organization to complete environmental selection and organizational adaptation activities at different stages,and promote the change of organizational form.The thesis discusses the factors influencing the organizational evolution process with cross-functional ambidexterity capacity as the internal mechanism,constructs a process model of the interaction between environmental selection and organizational adaptation in organizational evolution,and reveals the internal mechanism of cross-functional ambidexterity capacity in the organizational evolution process.This thesis broadens the theoretical horizon of organizational evolution and ambidexterity capacity,and provides a new theoretical perspective for exploring the mechanism of organizational evolution process,as well as a guiding significance for the management of organizational transformation in enterprises. |
