Research On The Impact Mechanism Of Innovation Capability On Industrial Structure Optimization And Upgradin

The industrial structure is an important indicator in the field of economic research,as it can show the development of China’s economy at this stage.General Secretary Xi pointed out that to promote high-quality economic development,the focus should be on promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.The optimisation and upgrading of the industrial structure provides the internal impetus for the sustainable and stable development of the economy,and is a key link in achieving the goal of high-quality economic development.The improvement of innovation capacity can bring about technological changes,which is a necessary factor for the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.Therefore,this paper investigates the effect and mechanism of innovation capacity on the optimization and upgrading of regional industrial structure,and proposes reasonable and effective policy recommendations in order to improve regional innovation capacity,promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,and facilitate high-quality economic development.This paper measures the level of industrial structure optimization and upgrading in terms of two indicators:industrial structure rationalization and advanced industrial structure,based on the data of the three industries in 31 provinces(cities)from 2010 to 2019.It is found that:the level of industrial structure rationalization and upgrading gradually increases over time;there is obvious regional heterogeneity in the level of industrial structure rationalization among provinces,with higher levels in the eastern coastal regions and lower levels in the northwestern regions,but the differences within the eastern regions are significantly higher than those in the western regions;the regional differences in the level of industrial structure upgrading are small,with higher levels in the eastern regions but larger differences within the regions.The next step is to carry out empirical analysis on the data of industrial structure rationalization and upgrading to investigate the effect of innovation capability on industrial structure optimization and upgrading and the mechanism of its effect.A static panel model is used to verify the effect of innovation capability on the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,with innovation capability as the independent variable and industrial structure rationalization and upgrading as the dependent variables.The multiple mediating effects model was further introduced,and innovation resources and innovation environment were used as the mediating variables,and the bootstrap mediating effects test was adopted to investigate the influence path of innovation capability on industrial structure optimization and upgrading.In the parallel mediation effect model,innovation resources have a mediating effect on the path of rationalization of industrial structure by innovation ability,with a mediation effect of 0.265 and a mediating effect of 45.324%.The innovation environment plays a mediating role in the path of influencing the innovation ability on the upgrading of industrial structure,with the mediating effect being 0.262 and the intermediary effect accounting for 55.817%.In the chain mediation effect model,in the path of the influence of innovation environment and innovation resources on the rationalization of industrial structure,the 95%confidence interval obtained by the bootstrap method does not include 0(CI:0.025～0.052)to prove that there is a chain mediation effect.In the path of the influence of innovation resources and innovation environment on the upgrading of industrial structure,the 95%confidence interval obtained by the bootstrap method does not include 0(CI:0.318～0.489)to prove that there is a chain mediation effect.The results show that:(1)Innovation capacity positively contributes to the rationalization and upgrading of industrial structure.(2)Innovation capacity promotes the rationalization of industrial structure by accumulating more innovation resources and improving the utilization rate of industrial resources.(3)Innovation capacity promotes the development of the tertiary industry by optimizing the innovation environment,thus promoting the development of the advanced industrial structure of the region.(4)Innovation resources and innovation environment complement each other and jointly promote the optimization and upgrading of the regional industrial structure.
