Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of Io T technology,IIo T small data traffic and the number of connected Io T devices are growing at an explosive rate.The current 4G communication technology is gradually unable to meet the explosive growth of small data and new transmission paradigms are needed to accommodate 5G and the future 6G communication technology.An emerging transport framework “multipoint-to-multipoint” and/or “point-tomultipoint with different contents” communication paradigm—Uni-Multi-Unicast(UMUcast)scheme is proposed,which is based-on traditional 4G technologies such as evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service(e MBMS)and Group Communication System Enablers(GCSE),and novel 5G technologies such as Multi-Access Edge Computing(MEC).Catering to handle large-scale and data-intensive data interactions with better scalability,flexibility,accuracy and efficiency.The paper focuses on the performance analysis of the UMUcast based on the energy consumption of small data transmission for IIo T,and adds indispensable components for the optimization of the UMUcast,which is an important guidance for the research of the current network transmission scheme,the main research contents of this paper are as follows:1)There is no research on the energy consumption of UMUcast.This paper analyses the energy consumption of small data transmission for IIo T based on the UMUcast,and the research simulations show that UMUcast has a significant improvement in energy consumption compared to traditional unicast in handling multiple sources,multiple destinations and large amounts of small data transmission.As the energy consumption of data transmission has a greater relationship with the goodness of the channel,the traditional scheme can only choose the modulation order in the worst channel environment.Based on this,a regional aggregation optimisation scheme is proposed to aggregate the data transmitted to Io T devices in different channel environments in sub-regions,and simulation studies show that the optimisation scheme can further reduce the transmission energy consumption and further improve the performance of Io T devices using battery power.2)Emerging UMUcast schemes still have some drawbacks,such as high unparticipant inhibition overheads,high energy consumptions,and the lack of the feature of delivering multiple small-data to a specific Io T device Based on this,this paper proposes an e Xplicit UMUcast(XUMUcast)that enhances UMUcast by adding an explicit extension header to each UMUcast chunk.Combining the advantages of the joint coding component based on the Chinese residual theorem with the membership composition algorithm of the Bloom filter,simulation studies show that the proposed XUMUcast framework reduces the energy consumption of Io T devices with no data transmission within the group,while reducing the overall transmission energy consumption and enabling the transmission of multiple small data to a single device at once,compared to the original UMUcast framework.
