| In recent years,data journalism has entered the news industry and become a new development trend in journalism.The Sigma Awards,a global data journalism competition launched in 2019 by Professor Aron Pilhofer of Temple University and Gina Chua of Reuters,have been held for three times to recognize the best data journalism work in the world.At present,China’s data journalism practice is uneven and the development is weak,except for the industry leaders,most data news works have problems such as homogenization,single presentation and insufficient innovation.Moreover,China’s data journalism training system is not yet perfect,and there are fewer schools offering related courses,resulting in the lack of corresponding basic talents and weak relevant theoretical research.The Sigma Data Journalism Award winning portfolio combines diversified visual presentation methods and satisfying reader experience,which is richer than the specific practice of data journalism in China.On the one hand,the study of the unique narrative characteristics of the Sigma Data Journalism Award winners can fill the gap in data journalism in news narration.On the other hand,these excellent data journalism works can be used as the expansion object of news narrative research,and their excellent narrative skills are worthy of domestic data news production and production.In addition,it also provides typical cases for research in the field of data journalism and provides direction for the development of data journalism in the future.This paper examines the Sigma Data Journalism Prize-winning work in four chapters.The first chapter explores the narrative subject and narrative perspective of the2020-2022 Sigma Data Journalism Award winners,and analyzes the changes of the narrator in the new communication context,the narrator’s performance in the production of news texts,and the way in which it is voiced,that is,the narrative perspective.It is the narrator’s strategizing of news texts that realizes the combination of data and multiple media forms to promote the communication of text value.Chapter 2 analyzes the narrative grammar of the Sigma Data Journalism Prize winners from 2020 to 2022,that is,exploring the characteristics of news events and the logical relationship between news events and events.Each winning entry presents a very different news event.The theme of these award-winning works,that is,the common points of intrinsic attributes of news events,constructs the characteristics of news facts to a certain extent,that is,the overall characteristics of 43 sample news facts,which are manifested in prominent public attributes.The event assembly logic of these news facts is manifested as linear mode and extension mode,niche mode and analogy mode,combination mode and network mode.The different ways of assembling events are crucial to the expression of the value of news texts,which gives full play to the narrator’s initiative in arranging news events and facilitates readers to clear the context of the article.The third chapter is the analysis of the narrative discourse of the 2020-2022 Sigma Data Journalism Award winners,focusing on the analysis of the structure of news texts,mainly from the four aspects of narrative time,structure,situation and rhetoric,and the narrator cleverly reveals the value and meaning of the text through these contents and techniques,which is convenient for readers to understand.Chapter 4 explores the interaction between the data journalism text and the audience for the 2020-2022 Sigma Data Journalism Prize winners.On the one hand,narrators use a variety of narrative means to improve the audience’s narrative acceptance level.On the other hand,the audience interprets the text in a variety of ways,and realizes the value restructuring of the text with different levels of acceptance.It shows a new type of transmission relationship in the new media environment. |
