A Transmedia Storytelling Study Of The Network Literature IP Drama "Like A Flowing River"

In recent years,new forms of cross-media platform flow and interactive derivative between narrative texts have emerged in the development of realistic theme network literature IP rooted in Chinese society,showing the creative style of transmedia storytelling.As a content production concept in the environment of media integration,transmedia storytelling has been widely used in IP operation practice at home and abroad,and has become an effective operation strategy for network literature IP operation in China.This paper uses case analysis method,text analysis method and network ethnography and other research methods,takes the text materials related to realistic theme network literature IP drama "Like a Flowing River" as the research object,and combines the three core elements of story world,multi-media and interactive participation to study the construction of transmedia storytelling story world,the form of multi-media extended story,and the intertextuality between different narrative texts to call the audience to participate in the narrative.The study found that:The narrative texts of the "Like a Flowing River" series can build the story world around the core world view and meet part of the expectations of fans,but its transmedia storytelling process is not yet complete.The main reason is that "Like a Flowing River" has spent a long time to extend the story on TV,book publishing,audiobooks and other media,and has not effectively played the characteristics and synergies of different media.Therefore,although "Like a Flowing River" attracts fans to participate in the narrative,there are mixed advantages and disadvantages of the output text and copyright disputes.On this basis,this paper believes that the ideal path for transmedia storytelling of realistic theme network literature IP to tell Chinese stories well should be: first,to be faithful to the core text to construct the story world to stabilize fans,second,to use multi-media collaborative narrative to enhance the narrative effect,and finally consciously cultivate high-quality fans to stimulate the interaction and participation of fans.
