Big data,cloud computing,artificial intelligence and other information technologies are driving social change which have become key factors of production in the real economy,and big data is a critical development trend for future global trade.At present,China’s economy has entered a phase of high-quality development.However,the expansion of exports still relies mainly on the support of low-value-added primary processing and manufactured goods and lacks core technologies.Specifically for the micro-enterprise level,the quality of products must narrow the gap with global high-quality products,and the technical complexity of exporting enterprises should be improved.The application of big data not only represents a technological revolution but can also be applied to enable innovation in various industries.Therefore,what the paper explores is not only the influence mechanism of big data application on the export technical complexity of Chinese listed enterprises,which provides a reference for the promotion of high-quality development of foreign trade by big data application,but also the enrichment of international trade theories under the background of big data era.In the empirical test part,this paper utilizes the crawler technology of Python software to capture the relevant keywords of "big data application" in the annual reports of listed enterprises,constructs the big data application indicators of listed enterprises,and calculates the export technical complexity at the enterprise level based on CSMAR and Wind database,and matches form balanced panel data.On this basis,the paper sets a benchmark regression model to test the influence mechanism of big data application on enterprise export technical complexity.Meanwhile,robustness test was conducted by replacing core explanatory variables,adding new fixed effects and shrinking tail treatment,endogeneity test was conducted by instrumental variable method,and heterogeneity test was conducted by subsample regression.Finally,the paper draws on the mechanism test methods of previous scholars to verify the influence mechanism and four propositions of big data application on enterprise export technology complexity through internal resource matching degree,innovation effect,scale effect and financing constraint mitigation effect.The research shows that the application of big data has a significant positive impact on the technological complexity of exporting enterprises,and the export technology complexity can be improved through four mechanisms: internal resource matching degree,innovation effect,scale effect and financing constraint easing effect.Among them,through current situation analysis,the paper finds that the application degree of big data in Chinese listed enterprises has Spatio-temporal heterogeneity,analyzes the development status of big data application based on the classification standard of enterprise nature,and analyzes the development status of export technology complexity based on industry and region.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the degree of big data application and its impact on the technical complexity of export in inland areas are weaker than those in coastal areas,and state-owned enterprises have higher ability to improve the technical complexity of export through big data application than non-state-owned enterprises.Finally,the paper puts forward the following policy recommendations: To promote the development of international economic and trade informatization with big data application;Standardize financial markets and ease financing constraints with big data application;Accelerate the deep integration of big data and the real industry,improve the efficiency of enterprise research and development;In-depth study of big data related theories to adapt to the development level of productivity;Strengthen the management of network information security and improve the management ability of external risks.
