The concept of eco-museum was introduced into China dating from 1980s,and has been sequentially put into Chinese practice in Guizhou,Yunnan,Guangxi,Zhejiang and some other Chinese cities. The "1+10" scheme initiated by Anthropology Museum of Guangxi was launched at the end of 2003,based on the core value of"preserving cultural heritage on its original site" and "community participation".The project outstands for its distinctive pattern which combines with the practical situation in Guangxi:led by the government, guided by experts, and participated by people. This essay takes one of the ten eco-museums in Guangxi----Zhuang Eco-museum in Longsheng as an example, analyzing its current managerial and operational problems, and proposing specific suggestions on its future sustainable development.By means of home visits, questionnaire survey and comparative study,I agree that the museum has formed effective experiences and practice under the guidance of Anthropology Museum of Guangxi's "1+10" pattern. However, there are still problems at the government level, including limited expenditure, insufficient personnel, multiple management and hindered coordination.Speaking of expert instruction, there are problems of insufficient publicity and training,as well as "culture agent" domination. At the level of people participation, ambiguous recognition, limited participation and lack of motivation and encouragement mechanism are the problems. While in terms of the museum itself, lack of subjective initiative and execution problems exist.Zhuang Eco-museum in Longsheng should take effective measures in four aspects in order to gain sustainable support and impetus:the government, experts, people and the museum itself. It is suggested to closely contact with actuality, make sustainable development plans for the new time, increase financial and material support, strengthen personnel training, and implement dynamic evaluation regulation to provide mechanism guarantee, reinforce communication and coordination to provide negotiation and cooperation mechanism.Meanwhile, community participation should be brought up,together with encouragement mechanism.Cultural heritage preservation and inheritance should be strengthened and achieve a win-win result with tourism. Moreover,a managerial network combining the government, experts and residents should be built by flexibly making use of present working mechanism. There are also educational network combining eco-museum,higher education and institutes, and funding network combining fiscal revenue, tourism profit and social donation. This "3 by 3" mechanism will form a sustainable development framework and expand this pattern in depth.By practicing in the construction of Zhuang Eco-museum in Longsheng, this essay considers the strategies on its sustainable development and put forward personal opinions,in the hope of providing beneficial discussion for the following construction and development. Therefore, hopefully this essay would serve the sustainable development for Guangxi eco-museums and do my bit in promoting the construction and development of eco-museums in China.
