An Evaluation Of The Network Dissemination Effect Of High Quality Agricultural And Forestry Science And Technology Journals

Scientific and technological journal papers are a direct carrier for recording scientific research achievements and an important criterion for judging the scientific research ability of researchers and research institutions.Through timely and effective dissemination of scientific content,it is of great significance to promote social and cultural progress.Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the dissemination effectiveness of journal papers.With the development of network technology,the dissemination of academic papers has more space,and the learning mode of users has also changed a lot.Instead of paper reading,more and more users choose online reading,sharing and communication.The paper communication influence evaluation method dominated by the traditional citation index has a little limitations in evaluating the paper communication effect.In recent years,many scholars have put forward the idea of Altmetrics to evaluate the social impact of journal papers.The relevant theoretical and practical results will provide a new perspective for the evaluation of the communication effect of agricultural and forestry journal articles.In order to determine the effectiveness of online dissemination of agricultural and forestry journal articles in China,this study selected 560 papers from the agricultural and forestry disciplines selected as "Excellent Papers of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology" and "F5000 Papers" after online dissemination platform survey.Data on their dissemination on various online platforms were collected,and Altmetrics research paradigm was used to select 13 evaluation indicators that are in line with the current situation of paper dissemination in China.Correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted on the indicators.Divided the indicators into three levels based on the nature of communication:shallow communication,medium communication,and deep communication,and construct a communication effectiveness evaluation system.The comprehensive weight of each evaluation index was calculated by using the method of questionnaire,analytic hierarchy process and entropy weight,and the evaluation model of network communication effect of agricultural and forestry science and technology journal papers was finally determined.This evaluation model was used to evaluate the communication effect of the paper,analyzed the relationship between the evaluation result and the citation index,the topic of the paper,and the communication platform,excavate the main factors that affect the evaluation result,and provided reference for further improving the communication effect of the journal articles and improving the journal evaluation system.Research has found that the online dissemination platforms for agricultural and forestry science and technology journal papers are relatively centralized,and the dissemination style is more homogeneous.The usage rate of PC based network platforms is significantly higher than that of mobile platforms.China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,VIP,journal OA websites,Doc88,and Baidu Academic are the most commonly used PC based network platforms for agricultural and forestry science and technology journals.Mobile platforms mainly use We Chat and Xuetong as communication platforms.Using the calculation model for the network communication effect of agricultural and forestry science and technology journals established in this study,the communication power of 560 papers was evaluated.It was found that the highest communication power of agricultural and forestry science and technology journal papers was 28502.322 9,the lowest was 2.256 1,and the average value was 626.896 5,indicating a significant difference in communication effect.Among them,30.19% of the papers have higher dissemination power than the average.Based on the top ten papers cited by each journal in 2019 and 2020,the communication power of agricultural and forestry science and technology journals was evaluated.The top five journals were Soil Journal,Plant Genetic Resources Journal,Agricultural Environmental Science Journal,Agricultural Machinery Journal,and Agricultural engineering Journal.The communication power level gap between journals was obvious,with the highest and lowest difference about 35 times.Improving the effectiveness of online dissemination of agricultural and forestry science and technology journal papers can be achieved by ensuring the quality of academic papers,constructing new dissemination models,improving the evaluation system of journal papers,and strengthening the construction of journal brands.
