Nowadays,the trend of globalization is unstoppable,cooperation and exchanges between different countries are becoming more and more frequent,and it is particularly important to grasp the initiative of international public opinion and discourse.However,for many years,China’s cross-cultural communication platforms have usually been dominated by official mainstream media,and the Western-centric discourse mode is difficult to change,and the practice of differentiated communication for different regions still has a long way to go.With the vigorous development of the Internet,social media platforms have become an important position for cultural exchanges between countries,individual narratives have occupied a place in the field of cross-cultural communication,self-shaping is no longer the only form of external communication,and some foreign Internet celebrities who have become popular through domestic video platforms also play a pivotal role in the field of cross-cultural communication.The year 2023 coincides with the 10 th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative,and China and many countries along the Belt and Road Initiative have made heavy achievements in policies,facilities,trade,people’s support and other aspects.Foreign Internet celebrities from the Middle East along the "Belt and Road" use domestic and foreign video platforms to record Chinese stories and tell Middle Eastern culture,and personalized content production has enabled them to gain many fans and become one of the important subjects to promote cross-cultural communication between China and the Middle East.As the "messengers" of cultural exchanges and communication between China and the Middle East,they can overcome complex contextual barriers,analyze the cultural customs and customs of China and Middle Eastern countries based on the perspective of ordinary people,and build a bridge between China and other countries,and the experience and lessons can become a practical sample of cross-cultural communication.This study takes the video blogs and some user comments posted by three foreign influencers from Israel,Iran and Egypt on the Bilibili platform as the research object,and uses text analysis to explore the content characteristics,cross-cultural communication strategies and values of the three foreign Internet celebrity vloggers from the perspective of "other" theory and cross-cultural communication theory.At the same time,this paper analyzes the shortcomings of three foreign Internet celebrities in the practice of cross-cultural communication,and summarizes the countermeasures of regional cross-cultural communication in China on this basis,in order to contribute to cross-cultural communication in China.Specifically,the full text includes the following six parts:In the introduction part,the author elaborates on the research origin,literature review,research methods,research significance and other contents around the research questions,defines the core concepts involved in this research,and clarifies the concepts of "foreign Internet celebrities","cross-cultural communication","video blogs" and so on,so that the further determination of research objects,screening of research samples and other contents are explored later,and the innovation of this research is proposed on this basis.Chapter 1 summarizes the current situation of cross-cultural communication practices of foreign Internet celebrities from the Middle East,and shows the portraits of some leading foreign Internet celebrities on social media platforms in the form of data statistics,and finds that foreign Internet celebrities in the Middle East are relatively marginalized on Internet platforms,so the author clarifies the selection scope and selection criteria of research objects to ensure the applicability of the research text.In the second chapter,through text analysis,the author analyzes the content characteristics of foreign Internet celebrity vlogs in the Middle East from three aspects:internal and external perspectives,and builds a framework for foreign Internet celebrity vlogs in the Middle East to record Chinese stories and tell Middle Eastern culture along the "Belt and Road".The analysis found that the content themes of the three foreign Internet celebrities are open and diverse,mainly soft themes,supplemented by hard topics,in addition to telling Chinese stories,they also focus on the differences between China and foreign countries,and popularize the cultural knowledge of foreign Internet celebrities.In terms of narrative,pay attention to the rendering power of titles and visual cultural symbols on the story and the attraction of netizens.Chapter 3 analyzes the key elements of producing and distributing video blogs,and summarizes the cross-cultural communication strategies of foreign Internet celebrities from the Middle East from four aspects: communication perspective,communication channels,communication content and communication language.Foreign Internet celebrities also continue to achieve multi-platform linkage by participating in domestic variety shows and participating in the production of official media programs,showing their personal charm and expanding the scope of self-media communication as an important means to maintain popularity and retain fans.Chapter 4 focuses on the values behind the cross-cultural communication practice of foreign Internet celebrities in the Middle East from the national and individual levels,and explores the essence and deep logic of the above-mentioned communication strategies to achieve good results.It is found that foreign Internet celebrities in the Middle East are good at distilling and condensing the foreign culture full of differences into universal values and disseminating them,and expanding the common domain space in the two directions of national cultural inheritance and prejudice to break consensus,individual values and group attention,so as to achieve the purpose of cultural empathy and emotional resonance.In Chapter 5,the author discusses the shortcomings of the cross-cultural communication practice of the three foreign Internet celebrities,the asymmetry of audiences at home and abroad and the imbalance of communication effect are the main prominent problems,and on this basis,discusses the feasible way to improve the regional cross-cultural communication effect in China.
