This dissertation takes short videos for law popularization as the research object and defines them as "videos produced by organizations or individuals responsible for law popularization,with the main content of popularizing legal knowledge,spreading rule of legal concept and establishing legal belief.The length of videos ranges from a few seconds to a few minutes,and videos are released on open platforms and disseminated to all citizens with the ability to accept the law." In the process of research,multi-case study,in-depth interview and text analysis are used to collect the needed data.The short videos of law popularization published by accounts-"China Court Website" and "Siping Police"(the government law enforcement agencies)and by accounts-"Luo Xiang says Criminal Law" and "Wake Up Zhang Lv"(the civil legal professionals)are selected as the research samples.From the perspective of the audience,it analyzes and explores the content production strategies,and come up with the existing problems and optimization suggestions,in order to promote the long-term development of short videos for popularizing laws.The dissertation is divided into six parts.In the introduction,the research background and significance,research ideas and methods,research innovations and shortcomings are introduced.The first chapter defines the concept of legal short videos and makes a brief analysis of the communication motivation and advantages of legal short video.The second chapter analyzes the text of the selected samples,and analyzes the content production strategies of the short video for popularizing laws in three aspects:content selection,content production and content dissemination.The third chapter,based on the results of the in-depth interview survey,finds and proposes the existing problems in the current production strategies of the government’s law enforcement agencies and the civil professionals short videos of law popularization.The fourth chapter puts forward corresponding optimization suggestions for the problems mentioned above.The last part is conclusion,which summarizes the whole paper research,reflects on the shortcomings of the paper and makes the prospect of the development of the short video.
