Style,Resistance,and Incorporation:Smart Group Research As A Subculture

After the millennium,along with a series of developments in China’s economy,culture,and technology,rural and urban life systems were reformed,the manufacturing industry flourished,and a large number of rural youths flooded into cities to live.However,rural youths with "urban myths" did not find their place in the city.Therefore,they seek social identity and a sense of collective belonging by "playing Smart".A large number of subcultural Smart groups have emerged in Guangdong,Zhejiang,Jiangxi and other provinces.They created their own style,and their deviant style unconsciously produced the meaning of resistance,producing Smart culture in the urban space,forming their own cultural space.However,there are still many misunderstandings and prejudices in the Smart group and culture,and the public is not aware of the social problems hidden behind them.This study believes that the Smart group and culture are flourishing with the development of the times,but the development of the times has not solved the plight of rural youths.They are still in the gray area of ? ? the city,living a poor quality life.Life is subject to prejudice from the public and the media,and Smart culture is the only outlet for them to vent.At the same time,"Smart",as an important subculture in the millennium,expresses the rural youth’s yearning for freedom and individuality,and also reveals their inner fear,confusion and anxiety about urban life and their own future.However,judging from the content of the dissemination of Smart,the public and the media are not really aware of the various problems behind the "Smart",such as the imbalance between urban and rural areas,urban gray areas,and factory hegemony,but only focus on Smart.In addition to the unique style,the image of Smart is distorted,forming a poor stereotype such as weird,"gangster",and non-mainstream.Through the subculture theory of the Birmingham School,this study reveals the above-mentioned hidden problems behind the Smart group and Smart culture,and tries to make the public and mainstream media re-understand "Smart",and treat subcultures not just in style Instead of the form of expression,it is necessary to dig out the causes and problems behind it.China is still developing at a high speed,and subcultural groups emerge in endlessly.Smart is a microcosm of subcultural groups,and is also a typical subcultural group that has been stigmatized.It is our urgent need to correct our attitude and objectively understand subcultures.What needs to be done is an important way to maintain social order and cultural prosperity.
