The research performance of scholars is a significant indicator of the development of a discipline and plays a crucial role in enhancing China’s cultural soft power to a certain extent.At the same time,the study of the factors influencing scientific performance is crucial in order to promote the continuous development of science.Therefore,the study of research performance and the factors influencing research performance has been a key research area in the research community.However,the research on the academic performance of scholars in the field of library and information science in China has mainly focused on a few groups,such as highly cited and prolific authors,and there has been a lack of relevant research on the overall academic performance of scholars in this field.Therefore,this paper analyzes the academic performance and its influencing factors of scholars in the field of library and information science in China,in order to supplement the overall research on the academic performance of scholars in this field.Based on the research findings,suggestions are given to provide relevant references for the future development of library and information science.By collecting and analyzing personal and academic information related to scholars of library intelligence disciplines,this paper studied the overall situation and scientific research performance of scholars of library intelligence disciplines in China and their influencing factors by means of difference analysis,correlation analysis,and regression analysis.With regard to the characteristics of scholars,this paper found that more male scholars,more middle-aged scholars,and scholars with better academic and work backgrounds are present in the scholars of library intelligence disciplines in China.After the difference analysis,it is found that there are some differences in research productivity and research influence among scholars with different genders,education,job titles and work unit sizes,etc.Based on this,the correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between gender,work unit size,graduation institution size,title,education,job title,retention status,age and academic age of scholars in library intelligence disciplines and scholars’ research performance in China.After establishing the regression model,it was found that academic age,education,work unit size,title,and gender of scholars in library and intelligence disciplines have significant positive effects on their research performance,and are the main influencing factors on the research performance of scholars in library and intelligence disciplines in China.Finally,this paper makes recommendations to library intelligence scholars and related organizations based on the research results.As the age and academic age of scholars increase,their research performance shows a better trend,so the long-term development of scholars should be paid attention to.
