| The emergence of platform-based enterprises has changed the traditional way of working,giving rise to new forms of work and the labor group of digital workers.Different from digital laborers,some scholars conclude that digital spiritual workers are characterized by "flexible work status,agile content creation,and high flexibility in response to market demand".This study introduces the perspective of subjectivity,based on the previous research on digital labor,and in the context of the prosperous development of digital economy,we gain a deeper understanding of the labor form of digital spiritual workers and explore their labor control and flexible subjectivity strategies in the process of platform-based work,in order to better protect the legitimate rights and interests of this group of digital spiritual workers.This thesis takes the digital spiritual workers in the Xiaohongshu platform as the research object,and starts with the research perspective of political economy.Through the research,we find that the platform-based work of digital spiritual workers is still under the control of multiple parties.Under the platform system,the platform,the brand,and the user,the three parties jointly exercise labor control over the digital spiritual workers.The Xiaohongshu platform achieves the double domestication of digital spiritual workers through process manipulation and emotional control.In order to protect their commercial interests,brands control the content production of digital spiritual workers through creation time,creation space and creation revenue.Under the platform rules of user participation in content evaluation,users also participate in labor control,and they control the multiple labor stages of digital spiritual workers by implicitly judging or explicitly scrutinizing.Unlike the "silence" and "consent control" of digital laborers,the digital spiritual workers are still trying to make trickery and struggle,negotiate with brands and negotiate with users under the platform rules,even though they are already struggling under the triple framework of platform,brands and users.The group is still trying to take and fight under the rules of the platform,negotiate with the brands and negotiate with the users.Through a flexible way to interpret the subject’s initiative,on the basis of protecting their own rights and interests from being infringed,in order to ensure the creativity of content output,to maintain the independence of individual creation,and to ensure the independence of the content,However,not all digital spiritual workers are strong subjectivity,and the degree of subjectivity varies greatly among individuals,and some of them are pursuing commercial interests,and their subjectivity is becoming more and more invisible.On the one hand,subjectivity is facing othering,that is,it is still the "social imagination" expected by employers,and even caught in the dilemma of "self-exploitation" and "mutual exploitation";On the other hand,the subjectivity is gradually lost,and a large part of digital spiritual workers have lost their subjectivity,and digital spiritual workers have gradually turned from creative laborers to commercial subordinates,and their writing ability and content planning ability,which are envied by others,have gradually disappeared in the hot springs of interests,and finally become mechanical creative tools. |
