| The Communist Party of China has always put great significance on editing and publishing work since its founding.Our central government has issued a series of directional,fundamental and overall laws and policies concerning the publishing industry,which provide a crucial system guarantee and major policy benefits for strengthening publishing work and laying a solid foundation for the sustained,stable and rapid development of China’s publishing industry.At present,China’s economy and society have turned into a stage of high-quality development.With the constant improvement of people’s spiritual pursuit,the publishing and distribution industry faces unprecedented space for development.The demand for satisfying people’s yearning for a better life and the requirement for enhancing our “road confidence,theoretical confidence,institutional confidence and cultural confidence” have brought significant opportunities and new challenges to the reform of publishing work.As a state-owned publishing enterprise,A Publishing Company should seize those significant opportunities brought by the establishment of a strong socialist culture in China for the reform and development of publishing companies,make great efforts to make up the shortage of talents on the existing basis,and continuously optimize the company’s talent team.Editing is the core of publishing and distribution work,and the ability and quality of editors shall directly determine the quality of publications.Consequentially,the cultivation of editors is particularly important in the development plan of publishing talents.From the perspective of talent team construction of A Publishing Company,this study adopts research methods of literature analysis,case study,SWOT analysis,questionnaire survey,expert interview,in combination with competency model,to analyze the internal and external environment,and existing problems and causes for of editorial talent team construction through investigating the current situation of talent team construction of A Publishing Company.In this research,combined with the development strategy and corporate culture of Company A,questionnaires were distributed to various front-line employees of the company,and the corresponding competency model was deduced from the questionnaire results.Ten important qualities are obtained in this model,among which political literacy,market adaptability in the context of media integration,and topic choosing and scheming ability are the top priorities.Combining the analysis of the current situation of the talent team construction of A publishing company,and the construction of the talent competency model for this company,in order to further propose solutions to the problems in the talent construction of the company,and to promote the implementation of the competency research results in the process of talent recruitment,appointment,training and assessment,this study argues to give priorities to building a five-key-strategies talent team construction system based on the competency model,which are focusing on the comprehensive quality of employees in the recruitment and allocation process,innovating and improving the employee training and development process,optimizing the employee performance management mode and strategy,and clarifying the employee career management path.We should take many measures to select,cultivate,retain and use talents,build a new talent training system,and put forward suggestions for the construction of talent team of the company,so as to offer references for the talent team construction of state-owned publishing enterprises. |
