Evaluation Research On The Public Library Websites Based On Link Analysis

The website has become an important window for library to service and display with the development of social informatization and networking,which not only embodies the level of library digital construction and business management,but also affects the users’ reading experience.So the evaluation is beneficial to the improvement of library network service level,the popularization of regional culture and the formation of national reading style.Web link is the basic constituent element of website which reflects the situation of library network information’s distribution and dissemination.So in order to realize the construction state of the public library websites in the domestic and provide direction for their optimization,this paper takes prefecture-level public library websites as an example and evaluates them with link analysis method.Firstly,the related literature of the library website evaluation in the domestic and external are combed,the characteristics and deficiencies of which are analyzed.Secondly,the meaning,research tools and application analysis of the link analysis method are introduced,so as to know the current situation of website evaluation in its perspective and the traits of tools.Thirdly,the high-frequency indexes which are used in the existing researches of the link analysis are summarized.And we construct the link analysis evaluation indexes of the public library websites with their link actual features.It includes website quantity feature indicators and website impact indicators.The former contains the number of web pages,links,internal links and friendly links.The latter has the number of imported links and external links,web impact factor,external web impact factor and Page Rank.Fourthly,doing the empirical research.We get research samples according to the GDP of each city whose data are obtained by using Google,Yahoo and Chinaz.And the descriptive analysis,graph analysis,integration analysis and correlation analysis are conducted by using Excel,Gephi and SPSS23.0.The results show that the link analysis indexes of most websites are at the bottom level,and the construction level of single index and correlation ranking of websites in the eastern region are better than those in the central and western regions on the whole.The external link construction has a certain degree of autism.It is relatively better that the website construction is valued by the government.The correlation between the ranking and the web impact factor is weak as well as the number of friendly links,but others is relatively strong.And there is a positive correlation between the ranking and the economic level as well as the population.The following conclusions are drawn: The construction level of public library websites in China is uneven and low as a whole.And the status in eastern region is better than that in the western and middle regions.They have less contact with other types of sites whose active interactivity needs to be improved.And regional economy and population quantity have certain influence on their construction.Meanwhile,the government should strengthen and attach importance to their construction,so as to promote the web service level of public cultural service system in China.
