| In recent years, with the popularity of the Internet and the development of social media, more and more people have begun to obtain information, communicate and express their opinions through the Internet and social media. However,at the same time, incidents of cyber violence have increased year after year, gradually receiving attention and concern from society, academia and the general public.Based on 15 incidents of cyber violence that occurred since 2018,this study uses qualitative comparative analysis(QCA)to explore the motives and influencing factors of the occurrence of the phenomenon of cyber violence. This paper adopts the qualitative comparative analysis method from the intersectional research perspective of journalism and communication and social psychology, and constructs a model of the influencing factors of cyber violence by studying domestic and foreign literature and proposing the conditional variables of influencing factors based on group psychological theories such as rational behavior theory and attribution theory. The model is designed to study the phenomenon as comprehensively and objectively as possible. The model identifies five influencing factors:"emotional tendency," "psychological effect," "public opinion guidance," "moral generalization," and The model identifies five factors that influence the occurrence of online violence:"emotional tendency,""psychological effect," "public opinion guidance,""moral generalization," and "news coverage," and summarizes two key paths for the combination of variables that influence online violence by assigning values to 15 cases in the case database and entering them into the fsQCA3.0 software. In addition, four conclusions were drawn:(1)Emotional disposition and psychological effects are the core factors influencing the generation of cyber violence.(2)The most widely covered variable combination path is"negative affective tendencies*excessive desire for venting, vicariousness, and narrow sense of justice*negative guidance by opinion leaders*moral generalization".(3)Moral generalization is also an important factor in triggering online violence.(4)The impact of one-sided news media coverage on triggering cyber violence is limited. |
