Research On The Construction Of Collective Memory In The TV Series "The World"

Memory has collective and social characteristics,and individual memory is constrained by collective memory,following the discourse system of the country.Memory needs to be continuously constructed to achieve cultural inheritance and the transmission of cultural connotations in memory.The TV drama "The World" premiered on the Comprehensive Channel of China Central Television during the 2022 Spring Festival.After its broadcast,it sparked a wave of watching dramas throughout society,becoming a "phenomenal" TV drama that showcases the various ways of people’s lives in Chinese society over the past 50 years and the changes of the times in Chinese society.This article takes "collective memory" as the theoretical support for the entire text,adopts text analysis and literature analysis methods,and takes the TV drama "The World" as the research object to study its collective memory construction.It is hoped that it can enrich the case studies of its TV drama research perspective within the scope of collective memory theory,and also bring certain reference value for future TV dramas attempting to construct collective memory.This article analyzes the research from four chapters.Through analysis,it can be found that the TV drama "The World" revolves around the 50 year life experience of the Zhou family in the "light character film".The elements presented in the drama,such as the background of the times,the fate of the characters,the living scenes,and cultural values,allow the audience to recall or understand the "past",thus generating a certain sense of empathy and empathy,and achieving a preliminary awakening of collective memory;This drama is based on the production logic of the entire media era,constructing a collective memory production path through the encoding of film and television symbols and the linkage decoding between the media and the audience,strengthening the audience’s perception of memory,and interpreting traditional Chinese culture with modernity,expressing cultural connotations from different dimensions,conveying the optimistic spirit of the Chinese people despite difficulties and setbacks,as well as the beautiful quality of being good and upward,and experiencing the changes of the times,Remember the years of history.
