In the era of social media boom, people rely more and more on online space to supplement their knowledge of the world because they can "know everything without going home".As one of the top social media platforms in China with the largest number of users,Weibo brings together users from all over the world with different identities, and carries a huge amount of information flow.Under the effect of discourse penetration and media construction, these information flows continuously shape the audience’s perception of the world in the process of dissemination, and the phenomenon of gender blindness is one of them.As a misconception of gender,it is subconsciously absorbed by users in the microblogging field and acts on the real world. This paper regards the content which spreads in microblogs as the main object of research, combines Judith Butler’s gender theory,Bourdieu’s gender studies and the sociological theories of Habermas and Lippmann through textual analysis, discourse analysis and case studies, and explores the complexity of the phenomenon itself, and takes the specific content of communication and its effect in microblogs as the research material to clarify In addition,we also examine the causes of gender-blindness in microblogs. In addition,we will take into account the reflections and actions of microblog users on this phenomenon to clarify the possibility and necessity of eliminating gender blindness. Finally, based on the theories of Nancy Fraser and other scholars and the existing means of resistance by Internet users,we propose further countermeasures and considerations to eliminate gender blindness.
