| In this study, the Generation Z group of "digital natives" born between 1995 and2009 was used to analyze the lurking of the Generation Z group in the course of the use of We-chat moments of friends by means of questionnaire and in-depth interviews. This paper is composed of five parts, the first of which is an introduction, which mainly explains the urgency and necessity of the research, and defines the concepts of Dramaturgical Theory and lurking. The second part of the target group questionnaire, according to the questionnaire data summed up the current status of lurking. In the third part,20 users were selected for in-depth interviews, and the main reasons for lurking were analyzed.Different levels of lurking among users based on different variables, including anxiety about expected responses, fatigue with impression management, internal factors of concern about backstage exposure and constraints involving other people’s evaluations, overlapping external factors of role expectations are important components of influencing burnout, which can trigger different levels of lurking behavior. The fourth part discusses the influence of lurking behavior. On the one hand, lurking behavior may make users unify their online and offline social behavior, and even may make them return to real social behavior. On the other hand, the long-term development of lurking behavior will make users actively search for the suitability of media, choose alternative media as a platform for expression and catharsis, and strengthen the rebellion of users against the prevalence of socialization and instrumentalization of media under internet logic. Finally, the author thinks that the lurking behavior should be viewed objectively, the essence of lurking is "anti-connection",identity protection can be achieved through lurking,it is a new kind of media survival criterion, the research on lurking behavior is of great significance to social reality. |
