Research On The Constructiveness Of TV News Of People’s Livelihood

TV news of people’s livelihood has attracted widespread attention because of its characteristics of civilian perspective,people’s livelihood content,and people-oriented value.However,there have always been problems of trivial,superficial and even vulgar content,especially its outdated reporting thinking,emphasis on trivial cases and negative content,which are not conducive to solving the reported problems fundamentally,and also restrict its role in serving larger or longer-term public interests and promoting the benign development of society.After the rise of the Internet,TV news of people’s livelihood has even more encountered the dilemma of user loss and weak growth.Supported by the concept of“Constructive Journalism”,this dissertation sorts out the basic practice of our country’s TV news of people’s livelihood in terms of “constructiveness”,and tries to explore how to improve TV news of people’s livelihood from new news concepts and production requirements.This dissertation mainly uses the content analysis method to select 365 episodes of Jiangxi Metropolitan Channel’s “CITY LOCALE” in 2021 for quantitative analysis,starting from two elements of constructive journalism — — “active” and“participation”,specifically from six aspects: Theme orientation,solution proposal,focus on the future,supervision and accountability,background information and citizen participation to study the situation of sample reports.The study finds that in addition to being powerful in supervision and accountability,“CITY LOCALE” has shortcomings in all other aspects.In this regard,it is proposed in this dissertation that TV news of people’s livelihood should seek breakthroughs in breadth,validity,thickness,temperature and openness,so as to enhance the constructive ability of news and better play its role in serving the “big people’s livelihood” and long-term social progress.
