The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),abbreviated as SDGs,are the 17 global development goals formulated by the United Nations in2015 to guide the global development work from 2015 to 2030.The SDGs contain 169 sub-goals and 231 indicators to assess the sustainable development progress of countries. The evaluation of SDGs indicators faces a serious problem of missing data.According to relevant surveys,45% of these indicators have evaluation methods and data,39% have evaluation methods and no data, and 16% have no evaluation methods and no data. With the development of remote sensing technology, raster data products produced by remote sensing image analysis technology can assist in the calculation of a number of SDGs indicators. For example,by using publicly released global forest cover products, the forest coverage rate of each country or administrative region can be calculated, namely the SDG15.1.1 indicator. At present, there is still a lack of software systems for SDGs indicator calculation, and the existing large-scale grid pixel-level calculation and statistical methods cannot meet the timeliness requirements of online indicator calculation. On the other hand, the United Nations and related organizations have released some SDGs-related systems. How to integrate and integrate the data of these diverse systems online to form a more complete data set for comprehensive analysis of multiple indicators also faces technical challenges. The pilot project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences “Big Earth Data Science Project” is committed to establishing a global monitoring and evaluation system for sustainable development goals, providing scientific and technological support for the United Nations and China to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This paper carries out research under the special support, aiming at the key technical problems of the above analysis,to research and design a comprehensive analysis system of SDGs indicators, mainly including the following work:(1)SDGs indicator calculation and performance optimization technology based on raster data. For two types of raster data products, the SDGs indicator calculation method based on raster pixel attribute value statistics and the SDGs indicator calculation method based on raster pixel area statistics are designed respectively.A set of SDGs indicator calculation system scheme based on Geo Trellis is designed, and for large-scale real-time calculation requirements, the grid data pre-slicing strategy and the large-scale calculation intermediate result caching strategy are studied. The technical effectiveness is verified through the calculation cases of two specific indicators SDG13.2.2 carbon dioxide concentration and SDG15.1.1 forest coverage.(2)Multi-platform SDGs indicator API integration and access optimization technology. The research proposes a real-time integration scheme of multi-platform API Mashup, which obtains relevant data in real time from platforms such as the United Nations,World Bank and CASEarth according to comprehensive analysis requirements, and uses it for indicator analysis after online integration. The design goal of the indicator comprehensive analysis system developed in this paper is to provide Internet services. When a large number of users access,it will trigger a large number of indirect access requests to each data source platform, resulting in high network delay. Therefore,a dynamic batch merging strategy for multi-platform API access requests is proposed to reduce the number of network connections.By simulating concurrent loads to access the relevant APIs of the United Nations Statistics Division and the World Bank’s SDGs,the experiment verifies the technical effectiveness.(3)On the basis of the above technologies,a comprehensive analysis system for SDGs indicators was designed and implemented. The system relies on the Spark big data computing engine and the Geo Trellis grid computing engine, including the SDGs indicator calculation module, the SDGs API online integration module, and the SDGs indicator visualization interactive analysis module.Relying on the system,a number of SDGs indicator calculation cases were developed to verify the effectiveness of the system.
