| "Legend of the White Snake" is one of China’s four great folktales and one of the first batch of intangible cultural heritage items to be included in the "National Intangible Cultural Heritage List".The history,folk customs,spirit and other cultures contained in its spread for thousands of years are the focus of our communication of the white snake culture.With the rapid development of 5G technology in the information age,functional games combined with new media technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality have gradually become a new field of digital communication of intangible cultural heritage.Therefore,this paper takes the digital communication of White Snake culture as the research goal,uses virtual reality technology and combines interactive narrative theory to design the game "Legend of White Snake".Firstly,literature research and case study are used for theoretical research.This paper reviews the concept and development of VR games and interactive narrative,analyzes the coupling between the two,and discusses the advantages of interactive narrative in VR games from the aspects of interactivity and immersion.Based on two advantages,this paper summarizes and puts forward the interactive narrative design elements in VR games from four aspects: narrative structure,narrative mode,interactive mode and interactive guidance.Its purpose is to provide theoretical guidance for the whole research.Secondly,based on the previous theoretical research,the game strategy and framework design.Through the current situation of white snake culture communication,determine the content of cultural communication;Determine user needs through investigation and research;Based on the design elements,user needs and communication content,the design strategy is summarized and the game design framework is determined from the three aspects of design purpose,rule play and expression form.Its purpose is to guide subsequent specific development.Finally,based on the design framework,the specific development and implementation of the game.From the text structure,interactive module,visual module three aspects of the explanation,and through the experimental method to verify the usability of the game and cultural communication effectiveness.Virtual reality technology achieves zero distance contact between users and characters and scenes through context construction,thus generating emotional resonance.The story of the White Snake is narrated in the way of interactive narration to establish two-way communication between users and the story,and solve the problem of passive information receiving by the audience under the traditional narration.Mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of users in the form of games to promote the spread of white snake culture.The research methods and game development process in this paper provide a certain reference direction for other intangible cultural heritage digital dissemination. |
