At present,high school history teaching has many contents and difficulties,scattered knowledge points and difficult to implement the core literacy of the subject,which leads to fragmentation and superficiality of students’ learning.The reform of high school history curriculum needs to develop in the direction of the new curriculum reform.The big concept is integrated,central and organized,and introducing the big concept into high school history teaching can help teachers and students get rid of the real dilemma.The study concludes that the teaching of high school history units in the context of big concepts can help improve the quality of teachers’ lessons and enhance students’ learning outcomes.The design strategies include: refining broad concepts and establishing unit teaching themes;designing unit teaching objectives based on broad concepts;constructing the unit teaching contents around the big concepts;deepening the big concepts and developing the unit teaching evaluation.The third part of this paper strictly follows this design strategy and applies it with examples to refine the big concepts of the unit according to the procedure,clarify the core points,deepen students’ historical understanding,and achieve certain results.This study helps to break through the current teaching and learning dilemma and promote the deepening of curriculum reform.
