With the continuous transformation of the training mode of competitive sports talents in China,the school-run second-tier teams are becoming an important channel for the training of Shanghai women’s basketball reserve talents.Since the 1980 s,Xiangming Middle School,Jianping Middle School,Baoshan Middle School and Xuhui Middle School have successively become the second-tier training schools of the Sports Bureau.With the further promotion of the "integration of sports and education" policy,Shanghai has gradually formed a "one-stop" training path for primary school,junior middle school and senior middle school,and the training task of female basketball reserve talents is gradually leaning towards the school.Under such a background,high-quality female basketball coaches become one of the key factors of training quality.Therefore,whether the competency of high school female basketball coaches can meet the current requirements of rapid development of campus basketball,it has become an urgent topic for domestic scholars to explore.In this paper,the competency characteristics of women’s basketball coaches in Shanghai senior middle school were studied in depth.First,combined with the method of literature analysis,coach and athlete analysis and behavioral event interviews with 8women’s basketball coaches in Shanghai senior middle school,25 optional indicators of competency were extracted in total;Secondly,the Delphi method was used to invite11 experts from the Shanghai Basketball Congress to screen and evaluate the indicators and measurement questions,and the competency model of Shanghai high school women basketball coaches was established,and the competency evaluation scale was developed;Third,the scale was made into a questionnaire,which was distributed to women’s basketball coaches in Shanghai senior middle schools,and 77 valid questionnaires were collected;Fourth,the factor analysis,reliability and validity test and model structure analysis were carried out on the collected questionnaire data.Through the above research process,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The competency model of Shanghai senior middle school female basketball coaches is established: the model includes four dimensions and 14 competency indicators.The first dimension is the Professional factor,which includes four characteristic indicators: building team,technical and tactical guidance and demonstration,making training plan,conducting on the spot;The second dimension is the management factor,including four characteristic indicators of leadership,communication skills,decision-making ability and fairness and justice;The third dimension is internal factor,including three characteristic indicators of intensive study spirit,achievement motivation and emotional control.The fourth dimension is cognitive factor,including three characteristic indicators: basketball knowledge system,insight and analysis and summary;(2)Based on competency indicators,a competency evaluation scale for Shanghai senior middle school female basketball coaches was developed.The scale was composed of 42 measurement questions.The scale was made into a questionnaire for distribution and recovery,and then factor analysis and reliability and validity tests were conducted on the model.The results showed that the model had a good fit and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were good.(3)After comparing the obtained competency model with basketball coach model and physical education teacher model,it is believed that the model has a good differentiation.(4)The practical application of the model in the recruitment and training of coaches is analyzed and discussed.
