The full-time married female graduate student completed the family formation during her studies.In the transition between the dual life scene of school and family,she had to face the expectations of multiple roles such as students,wives,and daughters in order to manage her marriage and complete her studies.In the process of changing from the original family to the new nuclear family life,family members are in a running-in state,and the family order has not yet been established.Female graduate students need to adapt to complex changes in family social relations and complete family tasks corresponding to their roles.These realistic family life backgrounds and The demands of family tasks all have an impact on the functioning of the family.Based on this,this paper adopts a qualitative research method to conduct in-depth interviews with eight full-time married female graduate students,focusing on the strategies of married female graduate students to adjust their family functions,using the process-oriented family function theory to analyze the process of completing family tasks,Combined with their social media content such as Weibo and Moments,they conducted in-depth research on their school and family life experiences.Starting from the dialectical relationship between family functions and family tasks,this paper first draws a picture of the family tasks of married female graduate students,and categorizes many family tasks into three categories: transactional,relational,and emotional.For transactional family tasks,it is mainly through goal management to clarify family responsibilities,role balance and adjustment of multiple role expectations,and overall family resources to achieve overall family benefits;for relational family tasks,it is mainly to improve self-differentiation and adjust emotional response,Relationships ” improve family stability,and use boundary control to strengthen family sense of belonging;for emotional family tasks,it is mainly through emotional communication between couples to promote empathic understanding,and to establish on-the-spot interactions to achieve empathic responses.Further research found that the six factors of the process-oriented family function theory formed three types of family function adjustment mechanisms around the core element family tasks,and connected the three types of typical family tasks to form a triangular relationship of family function realization mechanisms.When the family task goals are met,three families with functional risks will be formed,and the logic of the realization mechanism of family functions is contained in them.This paper focuses on a dynamic assessment of the completion status and experience of family tasks during the period of full-time married female graduate students,and summarizes the early stages of marriage and family life from the adaptation of roles,the proper handling of complex family relationships,and the life wisdom to cope with home-school connection.The adjustment mechanism of functional risk and functional realization of married female graduate students’ family tasks was extracted.It will help the majority of educators,family social workers and postgraduate groups to better understand the living conditions of this special group,and to find better support strategies for promoting the healthy development of female postgraduates,both physically and mentally,as well as for a harmonious and happy life.This is not only related to the individual growth of female graduate students in marriage and family life,but also has important reference significance for the healthy development of contemporary young families.The innovation of this study is that it is different from the result orientation of previous research on family function.It adopts a dynamic process orientation perspective to analyze the functional risks and adjustment strategies of three typical family tasks in the early stages of married female graduate students in marriage and family life.Refining and summarizing the adjustment mechanism for the realization of family functions,and enriching the research on the realization mechanism of young family functions in the new era,have important guiding significance for youth adaptation to marriage and family life and marriage and family life counseling.
