Chemistry is a highly exploratory natural discipline. The "2017 edition of the General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards" regards scientific inquiry and innovation awareness as one of the essential core competencies of students, and clearly divides the level of students’ inquiry ability.Studying the college entrance examination questions in recent years,it is found that there are more and more inquiry questions in the college entrance examination questions, which are more and more inquiry oriented, and put forward higher requirements for students’ problem-solving ability and scientific literacy.Based on this, this article conducted research on exploratory questions. This article first reviews the relevant literature on inquiry based teaching, inquiry questions, chemistry inquiry questions, and exam question preparation. It is found that there is a lot of research on inquiry based teaching, and the research on inquiry questions is still not rich enough, especially the research on chemistry inquiry questions and exam question preparation is even less. Therefore, this article is based on the theories of exploratory learning, multiple intelligences, and problem-solving.The research focuses on teachers and students from a key high school in Binzhou City.two hundred and seventy student questionnaires were distributed, and six teachers were interviewed to investigate their understanding and use of inquiry questions. The aim is to understand the current teaching situation of high school chemistry inquiry questions and analyze the main problems that exist,To lay the foundation for the research and development of chemistry inquiry questions in teaching.Secondly, starting from the essence of inquiry activities, chemistry inquiry questions were classified based on their evaluation function, solution methods, requirements for students’ abilities, and teaching objectives to be achieved; Then,it was summarized that chemistry inquiry questions have the characteristics of problem-solving,openness,comprehensiveness,personalization,repeatability,and practicality.Once again, the principles for developing inquiry questions were summarized, and strategies for developing inquiry questions were proposed,as follows:(1)closely connecting the learning content provided by the textbook with modern technology;(2)combining production and daily life;(3)designing inquiry questions for the basic knowledge and skills of high school chemistry;(4)designing inquiry questions to reflect students’ inquiry process and methods;Once again, the requirements for inquiry question teaching were proposed from both teachers and students; Finally,a case study of the development of inquiry questions and a teaching case study of inquiry questions were designed. The innovation of this study lies in:(1)the developed survey questionnaire and teacher interview outline for high school chemistry inquiry questions provide new tools for future testing of high school chemistry inquiry questions;(2)The classification and organization of chemical inquiry questions, analysis of their characteristics, and preparation of inquiry question cases and teaching cases provide a new basis for future research on chemical inquiry questions...
