As the reform of the new college entrance examination is deepened,the starting of the college entrance examination reform was clearly proposed by Shanxi Province in 2022.According to the demonstration of test questions issued by the Ministry of Education,the structure and setting of the 2023 college entrance examination questions are found to have changed though the college entrance examination in 2023 will remain the same.Now,there are more provinces implementing independent proposition of questions,and more commonality of test questions is embodied.Through the research on the proposition features and ability structure of the new college entrance examination questions,and the search of the thinking ability requirements of the examination,the accurate grasp of the examination content of the new college entrance examination and the requirements for the level of students’ thinking ability can be helped.The students can be facilitated to better prepare for and adapt to the new college entrance examination,the guidance of teaching practice activities to develop students’ high-order thinking and core literacy of chemistry can be promoted,so the talent cultivation and transmission can be ultimately achieved.In this study,SOLO level is combined with high-order thought and academic requirements of high school chemistry.The designed test analysis table is used to make the division of the level structure and examination content of the chemical grade test questions independently set by four provinces and cities of Beijing,Tianjin,Hubei and Liaoning from 2020 to 2022.The SOLO level of the test questions about the structure features,thinking ability requirements and examination content of the new college entrance examination questions are obtained.Besides,the development and requirements of high-order thought ability in the new college entrance examination questions,as well as the necessary knowledge,thinking ability level requirements and test preparation strategies required under the theme of chemical knowledge are summarized.Based on this,some suggestions can be provided for the students who are going to take part in the new college entrance examination on the key points in preparing for the examination and the adaptation of the new college entrance examination questions.Besides,the scientific and effective suggestions and reference can be provided for front-line teachers in mastering the learning situation,preparing the test questions,daily teaching design,developing students’ high-order thought and so on.According to the research,the conclusions are drawn as follows:First,the implementation of the cultivation of the core literacy of chemistry can be facilitated by promoting the development of students’ high-order thought.Second,the related structure level and multiple structure level are mostly presented in the structure of the test questions.The range from 57% to 75% is about the proportion of the two parts of the test questions,accounting for about 2/3 of the whole.However,the less proportion of the single structure level in the test papers around the country is found,while the increasing proportion of the abstract structure level is shown year by year.In terms of thinking level,the tests of higher-order thought become more,presenting more novel and informative setting of test questions.When it comes to the new college entrance examination,students’ abilities to extract information,transfer knowledge,synthesize and innovate are more comprehensively examined,and the higher requirements are proposed for students’ comprehensive ability,high-order thought in chemistry and core literacy of chemistry,and more emphasis has been put on the development of students’ high-order thought.Thirst,the certain stability of each knowledge theme is embodied in the examination of the new college entrance examination.The level of multiple structure is required for most of the knowledge themes,while the level of related structure is required by other comprehensive knowledge themes.However,some changes happen in the setting of knowledge structure.In instance,the new college entrance examination questions focus on the foundation and synthesis of organic chemistry.In addition to examining the abundant levels of thinking ability,it has higher proportion of relevant knowledge questions,and the background design of many questions combines organic chemistry knowledge.While it is found that the new college entrance examination questions gradually ignores the basic calculation tests such as the related concepts and formula transformation of commonly used stoichiometry,and the examination of calculation ability is more conducted in comprehensive applications.In addition,the summary of the necessary knowledge and test preparation strategies in various knowledge topics also has guiding significance for students.Fourth,being able to objectively evaluate students’ learning situation,SOLO classification theory can diagnose the level of thinking ability possessed by students,which can also make the provision of the corresponding direction for students’ development of higher-order thought.This can not only help students recognize the loopholes in the knowledge system to make them supplement and improve in time,which can also facilitate teachers to carry out the following design of teaching in line with students’ mastery and thinking ability level,so students’ thinking ability can be effectively developed.
