| As a medium,algorithmic technology gathers people and things that have not intersected in the past through its own indication,connection and control functions,and is deeply embedded in the process of labor practice.The reconstruction of labor process makes modern labor increasingly "media oriented".Therefore,in view of this phenomenon,the core issues of this paper are put forward: as an important media link connecting platforms,workers and consumers,how do algorithms embed and affect labor-related economic environment,labor process,employment mode and workers’ subjective initiative,this core problem is divided into three small problems: how does the algorithm become a kind of work logic and integrate it into the daily life of take-out delivery clerks,what are the impacts of the digital labor process of the take-out clerks,and how the take-out clerks,as the main labor body,deal with this impact,with this step by step analysis.This paper mainly uses qualitative research methods to conduct field investigation,interview and online ethnography on take-out delivery clerks in Changsha from November 2021 to February 2022.It is found that the algorithm relies on the delivery time estimation system,technical control system and labor compensation pricing system to regulate the take-out delivery clerk’s labor process in an all-round way.Under this regulation,take-out delivery clerk’s digital labor process presents the characteristics of timeliness,emotion and game.In the face of the control of the clerk’s subjectivity by the algorithm technology,the clerk’s "inverse algorithmic" labor response behavior is mainly reflected in the selfreinterpretation of the algorithm logic in the offline physical space and the expansion of the world outside the labor in the online virtual space.When the algorithm is applied to the management of labor process,it will bring negative effects,such as improving the labor intensity of riders,narrowing job selection,blurring labor employment relations and so on.Algorithm should be regarded as a means of management rather than an end.Under algorithm decision-making,it is more necessary to return to humanistic care,in order to put forward suggestions to protect the take-out clerks and interests of take-out clerks from the aspects of law,platform and take-out clerks themselves. |
