| PA is one of the most important modules of the RF transmitter, which has a decisive influence on the power and linearity of the system. In modern high data rate systems, the signal spectrum has a high peak-to-average power ratio, which means that the power amplifier works in power back-off statemost of the time.Outphaing power amplifier is an important direction for high efficiency power amplifier. In addition, outphasing power amplifier also has the characteristics of high linearity,so it is suitable for the development of high efficiency and high linearity power amplifiers in the future. This paper gives a compact outphasing power amplifier for 2.4-2.5GHz frequency band based on 22 nm CMOS process.A transformer is used for conjugate matching between the driver stage and the power amplifier. The power combiner adopts the method to eliminate the imaginary part, the variable capacitance switch array to improve the PAE.Both the driver stage and the output stage power amplifier adopt a deep class AB common source structure, and the output stage power amplifier works in a saturated state. The paper completes the circuit design, presimulation, layout design and post-simulation.The post-simulation results show that the peak power added efficiency of the power amplifier is higher than 56.5% in the frequency band of2.4-2.5GHz,and the peak output power reaches 29.2d Bm,and the peak output power reaches29.2d Bm.The power-added efficiency at the power back-off point of 6d B、7d B、8d B reaches28.2%,20% and 14.3%,respectively.The high-efficiency power amplifier designed in this paper can be used in So C systems, and can also be used as a module of transceivers. |
