| 5G construction is being vigorously promoted at domestic and abroad,and Covid-19 also accelerates the development and applications of communication technologies.With the upgrading of consumption and changes of market demand,the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry is imminent.Meanwhile,the traditional supply chain management model of the manufacturing industry has brought a severe test to the future development of enterprises.The wave of digitalization has begun to reshape the global economy in many aspects,and the digital transformation of supply chains will inevitably become one of the key areas in the evolution of the manufacturing industry.Comparing with domestic manufacturing business,the supply chain management of international business is more complicated and uncertain.Along with strong market demand for 5G products and intensified market competition,the problem of global supply chain management in the communication manufacturing industry has become more challenging.The urgent issue of communication manufacturing enterprises is how to lead supply chain digital transformation and enhance enterprise supply chain management to better brace for international competition.This paper illustrates the background,issues and implementation plan of supply chain digital transformation of Enterprise E,a leading company in global communication manufacturing industry,through an in-depth case study.Through literature research,company interviews and the use of SWOT framework,this paper firstly analyzes the current situation of Enterprise E’s supply chain.The problems of Enterprise E’s supply chain have also been found,which includes long order delivery cycles,poor customer response and increasing demand for product customization.Combining the actual situation of Enterprise E and the experience of supply chain digital transformation in the same industry,this paper explores the pathways of supply chain digital transformation,designs the top-level architecture of Enterprise E’s transformation,and clarifies the objectives,principles and evaluation methods of supply chain digital transformation.This paper also proposes a concrete implementation plan including establishing a group data center,building an integrated digital supply chain control tower and expanding the digitalization of upstream and downstream supply chains to create an end-to-end digital supply chain.In order to ensure that the supply chain digital transformation program can be effectively implemented,this paper proposes a number of safeguards,including upgrading the group’s supply chain organizational structure,cultivating digital supply chain talents,realizing the interconnection of software and hardware devices,and building a digital supply chain center platform.This paper will help promote the application of digital supply chain management theory and transformation methods in the manufacturing field,and provides a reference for communication manufacturing companies’ supply chain digital transformation.This paper also offers valid ideas and inspiration for other companies at home and abroad that are seeking to upgrade their digital transformation. |
