| In the context of the success of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games,to investigate which cognitive factors influence adolescents’ ice and snow sports participation behavior under the influence of the Winter Olympic Games events and the intrinsic relationship between each influencing factor, this study systematically composes the applications of the theory of planned behavior in different fields It uses the literature method, mathematical and statistical method, questionnaire survey method, and In-depth interviews and other research methods applicable to this study. It used to conduct literature combing and theoretical derivation based on the issues raised in this study.Firstly, based on the theory of planned behavior, this study discussed the model of the influence of behavioral attitudes, subjective norms, and control cognition on behavioral intention and participation behavior of youth ice and snow sports participation cognition, and introduced the media function dimension based on the original model to explore the influence of winter Olympic Games event viewing on the variables related to youth ice and snow sports participation cognition.A youth ice and snow sports cognitive response scale was developed by combining scales from established studies. After the pretest scale reliability and validity met the requirements, and the questionnaire data were organized, and the model indicators of youth ice and snow sports event viewing cognition and ice and snow sports participation behavior were derived through model testing and path analysis, and structural equation model construction and the following conclusions were drawn after analysis.(1)This study is based on the theory of planned behavior and employs a simplified model of communication to examine the factors that influence youth participation in ice and snow sports. After conducting reliability and validity tests,as well as structural equation modeling analysis, hypotheses H1-H13 were proven to be valid.Specifically, four variables-behavioral attitudes, subjective norms, control perceptions, and media functions, were found to collectively influence youth participation in ice and snow sports. Moreover, each variable was shown to influence two other variables. These findings align with the theory of planned behavior and suggest that the theoretical model used in this study has good predictive power for youth participation in ice and snow sports.(2)The results indicate that behavioral attitudes, subjective norms, control perceptions, and media functions are all significantly positively correlated with youths’ willingness to participate in ice and snow sports. However, the degree to which these factors influence participation varies.Media functions had the greatest positive impact on youths’ willingness to participate, followed by behavioral attitudes.Meanwhile, subjective norms and control cognition had smaller effects.Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:(1)make good use of the post-competition legacy of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics;(2)focus on developing ice and snow sports in schools;(3)guide youth to form better habits of ice and snow sports participation;(4)reduce the cost of youth participation in ice and snow sports;(5)Optimize the media promotion of all kinds of large-scale sports events. |
