The social integration of rehabilitated drug users in the community is an important part of drug rehabilitation work and an important area of social governance that requires focused attention. In recent years,China’s anti-drug efforts have been successful, with a reduction in the number of drugs seized, drug users and repeat offenders,as well as an increase in public awareness of drugs and drug users in communities and schools. However, there is a lack of attention to the subsequent detoxification and social integration of drug abusers, and there are few social organisations working on this issue. In order to carry out better social integration work for drug addicts, further research is needed on the existing drug rehabilitation platforms, with a view to finding a more effective way for drug addicts. The author adopted a qualitative research approach, using social support theory as the framework for the study, and used participant observation and unstructured interviews to conduct a study on the effects of employment bases set up by drug rehabilitation workers on promoting the social integration of drug rehabilitation workers. In acquiring the research data, the author analyses the social support network of drug rehabilitation workers, the role of the employment base on the social integration of drug rehabilitation workers, the changes in the mindset and behaviour of drug rehabilitation workers before and after entering the employment base, and the reasons for these changes, points out the shortcomings of the current employment base, and provides some feasible suggestions for the The study will also provide some feasible suggestions for the existing conditions. The study found that the social support network of drug rehabilitated persons during community rehabilitation before entering Employment Base A was weak and insufficient to support the social integration of drug rehabilitated persons. There is a breakdown of trust between ex-drug addicts and their families and friends, and they do not receive timely support from their families and friends. In addition, rehabilitated drug users tend to close themselves off from the outside world after the end of compulsory isolation, resulting in a lack of information. The low level of education and lack of survival skills of rehabilitated drug addicts,as well as the low level of social evaluation, emotional support, behavioural support, information support and evaluation support,do not support the integration of rehabilitated drug addicts into society. The peer employment base,on the other hand, increases the social support of ex-drug addicts through a series of social activities and psychological communication to promote their integration in the four dimensions of family, occupation, interpersonal interaction and identity. They use the employment base as a stepping stone to society, and through the various support initiatives within the base, they gradually improve their self-esteem,reshape their image and successfully integrate into society. The author will explore the effective ways to promote the positive development of the employment base in four aspects: supervision and management, government support, professional capacity and joint mechanism.Through the study of the individual case of employment base-A,the author expects to improve the shortcomings of the current drug rehabilitation work in the employment base and promote the diversified and personalised development of drug rehabilitation work,so as to better promote the return of drug rehabilitated persons to society.
