"Development and improvement of thinking" is put forward as one of the core qualities of the four major Chinese subjects in the Chinese Curriculum Standard for Ordinary High School(2017 edition),which requires our Chinese teaching to pay attention to the cultivation of students’ thinking mechanism and thinking quality.Such training should run through all aspects of Chinese teaching,including the teaching of foreign novels.Foreign novels have both the unique characteristics of foreign literature and the stylistic characteristics of the novel itself.It is an important teaching center for cultivating students’ language ability in all aspects.At the same time,the rich ideological value of foreign novels gives them unique advantages in thinking teaching,which is worthy of repeated polishing by Chinese educators in teaching research.Looking at the present,our Chinese teaching has always emphasized the cultivation of thinking,but the current situation of thinking training is difficult to meet our teaching requirements;Similarly,our Chinese teaching also attaches importance to the reading and appreciation of foreign novels,but our foreign novel teaching still has the problem of superficial and stylized.The combination of thinking training and foreign novel teaching is quite necessary and feasible.Therefore,this paper aims to explore the theoretical basis and implementation status of the combination of thinking training and foreign novel reading teaching,and put forward some suggestions for reference.The main body of this paper can be roughly divided into three parts:The first part,theoretical support,involves the first and second chapters of the text.First of all,this paper interprets the concept of "development and promotion of thinking" and its implementation status,uses the method of literature analysis to explain the basic concept of thinking and Chinese subject thinking,and analyzes its implementation in front-line teaching by combining with textbooks and curriculum standards.Secondly,it combines thinking training with foreign novel teaching,analyzes the necessity and feasibility of thinking training in foreign novel teaching,and explores the unique advantages of thinking teaching in foreign novels.The second part,investigation and analysis,involves the content of the third chapter.On the basis of the theory,the questionnaire was issued to the high school students from two schools in different regions to investigate and analyze the current teaching situation of foreign novels in high schools and the teaching of students’ thinking conditions,and it was concluded that there are problems in the cognition,learning and teaching of foreign novels,that is,the degree of attention is not high,the teaching is not deep enough.Lack of intentional cultivation of thinking ability,etc.The third part,optimization strategy,involves the content of the fourth chapter.This part of the content from the concept of guidance,concrete practice and evaluation mechanism three aspects.The author believes that in order to optimize and adjust the current teaching situation of foreign novels and actively infiltrate and implement thinking training in it,it is necessary to infiltrate thinking training in the whole teaching process on the premise of setting up the concept of attaching importance to thinking teaching of foreign novels,involving three aspects: goal setting,method optimization and multiple interpretation,and do a good job in the final evaluation.
