Marx and Engels put forward the argument that "labor is the creator of all values".Labor education not only exercises children’s bodies and promotes their growth and development,but also contributes to their cognitive development and deeper understanding of their behavior in production life.In addition,labor education has important functions such as moral and aesthetic education.When observing the labor activities in kindergartens,the author found that the kindergartens are not doing labor education well,and the value of labor education is not well played,and the children do not develop good labor habits.Therefore,the researcher hopes to develop good labor habits through labor education activities.The children’s labor activities are more autonomous during the morning activity period,and the development of children’s labor habits can be observed more efficiently.Therefore,the researcher took as a research question how to develop the labor habits of older children during morning activities.This study used an interpretive action research with a combination of documentary,observational,and interview methods to explore effective strategies for developing children’s labor habits during the morning activity period,with the expectation of improving the development of children’s labor habits at this stage and providing a reference for other practitioners to carry out labor education.The object of this action research was Class D7,the class in which the researcher worked,and the current situation of developing children’s labor habits during morning activities was used as the basis for the research to be conducted.Three stages and eight cycles of action research were conducted around the general goal of developing children’s labor habits.The first stage of action is to clarify the cognition of labor,focusing on children’s cognition of labor,which is centered on understanding the value of labor and recognizing the process of labor.The second action stage is to improve children’s labor skills,mainly through the correct use of labor tools,the improvement of labor skills and the improvement of finishing skills.The third action stage is to develop children’s emotional attitudes toward labor.The three cycles of interventions,namely building a sense of responsibility,sharpening children’s will to work,and cherishing the fruits of labor,are used to enhance children’s positive emotional attitudes toward labor.The three action stages have a focused focus,but in the process of promoting the development of children’s labor habits,the deepening of children’s labor cognition,labor ability,and labor emotional attitude occurs together.Then,the research effectiveness of the action research was portrayed in three aspects:changes in children,growth of teachers,and improvement of classroom work environment.Through the planning and implementation of the three phases of action,children’s work habits during the morning activity period were improved to some extent.The quantitative data from the Structured Dimensions of Children’s Work Habits Scale and the longitudinal analysis of the qualitative data showed that children’s work perceptions,work abilities,and work emotions and attitudes had improved.At the same time,teachers’ attention to the value of labor education increased and their organizational skills gradually improved.Finally,we summarized the basis of children’s labor habits in the context of research and practice,and suggested three key points for improving teachers’ labor instruction level:firstly,the instruction principle should follow democratic consultation and participate in the whole process of labor activities;flexibly,timely adjustment according to the actual activities;effectively practice,feeling "real labor" in "real situations" and enjoying labor.First,the guiding principles should include democratic consultation and participation in all processes of labor activities;flexible implementation and timely adjustment according to the actual activities;effective practice,feeling "real labor" and enjoying "real results" in "real situations";and joint parenting and insistence on good habits.The second is the guidance strategies for cultivating labor habits in multi-structured dimensions,which are to create correct labor cognitive orientation and clarify the purpose of labor education,to guide and enhance scientifically,to emphasize peer power and to improve labor skills,to broaden labor education channels,to deepen labor emotions and to strengthen education penetration.Finally,the support that kindergartens can provide for labor education is about enriching the content of labor curriculum,improving the construction of teachers’ team,improving the evaluation system of labor education in kindergartens and providing opportunities for cooperation among families,kindergartens and communities. |
