Background: In recent years,with the continuous development and improvement of positive psychology,emotional intelligence has gradually become a research focus of psychologists at home and abroad.In-depth studies have been made on the attribution and improvement strategies of behavioral engagement,which has broadened the research field of sports psychology.Emotions play a role in organizing,motivating,maintaining and motivating in individual physical exercise and activities.Objective: The study showed that students’ emotional intelligence level can significantly predict the degree of exercise involvement,and emotional intelligence has significant correlation with self-efficacy and mental resilience.Emotional intelligence is only a part of the factors that affect the participation in physical exercise.The influence between the two variables may be changed by other mediating variables,but the mechanism of such influence still needs to be explored.Methods: A questionnaire was used to investigate the emotional intelligence,self-efficacy,mental resilience and physical exercise involvement of 755 vocational college students in Zhejiang Province,and the mediating role of self-efficacy and mental resilience in the influence of emotional intelligence on physical exercise involvement was analyzed by mathematical statistics.Results:(1)Emotional intelligence,self-efficacy,mental resilience and other dimensions could significantly predict the participation in physical exercise;(2)Self-efficacy and mental resilience had significant mediating effects;(3)The chain mediating effect of self-efficacy and mental resilience was significant.Emotional intelligence predicted 62.1% variation of physical exercise investment by influencing self-efficacy and mental resilience.Conclusion:(1)Students’ emotional intelligence,self-efficacy and mental resilience are significantly correlated with the level of participation in physical exercise.By cultivating students’ positive psychological qualities,they can be more actively involved in physical exercise.(2)Students’ self-efficacy and mental resilience play mediating effects respectively on the influence of emotional intelligence on exercise involvement.Teachers can intervene on students’ self-efficacy or mental resilience when using students’ emotional intelligence to improve the level of physical exercise involvement.(3)Students’ emotional intelligence can influence their participation in physical exercise through the chain mediating effect of self-efficacy and mental resilience,and achieve the best effect.This effect should be made use of in practical teaching,so as to correct students’ attitude of participating in physical exercise and give full play to their subjective initiative to actively participate in physical exercise.
