Research On Improving The Service Ability Of Community Volunteers From The Perspective Of Advantages

In recent years,China’s voluntary service has made remarkable progress,playing an increasingly important role in Community Governance and daily life,and becoming one of the effective ways for residents to participate in Community Governance.However,volunteer service only plays its role under the promotion of the government and external forces.The endogenous force of community volunteer volunteer service is relatively weak,and the problem of insufficient professional service capabilities of community volunteers is more obvious.This not only affects the enthusiasm of community volunteers for service,but also cannot guarantee service quality,and will also affect the level of community grassroots governance.Therefore,studying the improvement of community volunteer service capabilities is of great significance for improving grassroots governance capabilities and improving the quality of community services.This study adopts participatory observation and interview methods to conduct a detailed analysis of the basic situation of D community volunteers and their ability to participate in volunteer services.On this basis,12 community volunteers were selected through screening criteria,and practical interventions were carried out on them by combining group work methods with the theory of advantage perspective.Research has found that the service ability problems of D community volunteers are mainly manifested as: insufficient service skills;Poor teamwork ability;Lack of interpersonal communication ability.Based on the above issues,this article uses the professional approach of social work to intervene in three stages: first,in the early stage: mutual understanding,exploring advantages,and building team cohesion;Secondly,in the mid-term stage: to stimulate internal advantages and enhance professional skills in volunteer service;Thirdly,in the later stage: consolidate the achievements of the activity and handle the emotions of departure.The author adopts a group work method to carry out targeted activities and training for community volunteers,in order to explore their advantages and potential,stimulate their service enthusiasm,and endow them with professional social work to enhance their service ability.The service intervention has achieved good results.Research suggests that combining group work methods with the theory of advantage perspective,focusing on the strengths and resources of service recipients,encourages them to discover and unleash their potential.This helps them utilize their advantageous resources to make up for their shortcomings,enhance their self-confidence,self-worth,and sense of efficacy.Based on this,this study also reflects on this.Firstly,social workers are not proficient in using professional skills;The second is the urgent need to strengthen the sustainability of the intervention effect of social workers;The third reason is that the fit between theory and the actual operation of the group is not high.
