| Frugality is a traditional Chinese virtue and has a very important value for the physical and mental development of young children.In the current context of decreasing energy and serious waste of resources,it is very important to cultivate the awareness of frugality from early childhood,shape their good saving habits,and guide them to establish correct values and consumption.However,few of the relevant early childhood education studies have included frugality education as the main research content and conducted practical research based on theory,and a few of the relevant studies focus on the empirical summaries of some early childhood educators.In conclusion,the research results provide inspiration and reflection for this study on frugal education for young children and provide some research space for this study.Based on the theories of curriculum integration theory,living education theory and other related theories,this study selects children in S class of Kindergarten A in Guiyang City as the main research object,and carries out practical research on the theme of frugal education in kindergartens through a combination of observation,interview,and case study methods,with the aim of understanding the current situation and problems of frugal education in kindergartens as the starting point,combining theory and concrete practice.The study was carried out with three sub-themes: "Hello,rice grain","Small drop of water with big energy" and "I can turn waste into treasure".The whole process of designing and implementing the frugal education activities is based on the overall development of children,paying full attention to children’s interests and physical and mental development needs,taking children’s actual life as the main content,allowing children to continuously improve their frugal awareness and accumulate frugal life experience on the basis of their original experience,adhering to the principle of "from life,to life",and trying to achieve the goal of "from life,to life".The researcher tried to build a more scientific,rational and developmentally appropriate program of frugality education based on the principle of "from life to life".After four months of research,the researcher found that the children in this class were more concerned about the wastefulness in life than before the implementation of the frugality theme activities,knew how to save resources in daily life,basically mastered the methods of saving resources in daily life,initially developed good habits of frugal behavior,and could stop their peers when they found wasteful behavior,and gradually understood the importance of frugality to environmental protection.The teachers’ awareness of frugality has increased significantly,and they recognize the value of frugal education and have improved their ability to design and implement activities based on their previous knowledge.It can be seen that it is feasible for kindergarten frugal education to be carried out through thematic activities;it is advisable to carry out frugal education in kindergarten on a regular basis and to carry out all aspects of kindergarten education in order to be effective;frugal education is an enrichment and improvement of the content of kindergarten education and has a rich value for the overall development of the whole body and mind of children.Therefore,in order to ensure that the theme activities of frugal education in kindergartens can be carried out smoothly and efficiently,and to improve the comprehensive frugal literacy of children,the researcher suggests that: kindergartens should strengthen the construction of teachers,improve teachers’ awareness of frugality and their comprehensive ability to design and implement theme activities;implement frugal education activities for children in a comprehensive and regular manner,and attach great importance to frugal education activities;actively mobilize parents,the community and kindergartens to build a cooperative system for children.We will actively mobilize the cooperation of parents,community and kindergarten to build an integrated and scientific frugal education program for children inside and outside the kindergarten. |
