Theme-based activities break the boundaries of domains and connect various learning contents around a theme organically,so that children can gain complete experience of related themes through their exploration and learning of the theme and promote their overall and harmonious development.In recent years,theme-based activities are in full swing and have gradually become an important form of kindergarten education.However,through the observation and understanding of this phenomenon,I found that there are many problems behind it,such as low achievement of the theme activity goals and insufficient protection of children’s development,which lead to ineffective implementation of theme activities and do not provide satisfactory results at the practical level.How to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of thematic activities? With this question in mind,I went into the middle class theme activity site of Y kindergarten.In this study,with the purpose of improving the effectiveness of the implementation of kindergarten middle class theme activities and achieving the overall development of children,we entered the kindergarten educational activities on the basis of a large number of literature searches and existing studies,and used observation,documentation,and interview methods to evaluate 30 samples of middle class theme activities in terms of teachers’ teaching and children’s activities,using an adapted "Observation and Evaluation Form on the Effectiveness of the Implementation of Middle Class Theme Activities".The data were evaluated using SPSS25.0.SPSS25.0 was used to process and analyze the data,and real cases were used to analyze the current situation of the effectiveness of the implementation of the theme activities in the middle class.The results of the study showed that: from the teachers’ teaching aspect,the theme sources were overly dependent on the textbooks;the objectives were unbalanced,inappropriate,and poorly operationalized;the content difficulty was not properly grasped;the environment creation neglected children’s participation and subjectivity;the implementation of activities lacked the development of parental and community resources and neglected the holistic and generative nature;the teachers’ basic skills were more formal in their observation and analysis and lacked attention to children’s learning initiative and individual differences.In terms of children’s activity performance,children’s interest in emotion and attitude is not high and their attention is not focused;in terms of ability development,language expression and social interaction ability need to be improved;in terms of learning quality,children’s initiative,creativity and problem-solving ability need to be improved;in terms of learning habits,children’s courage to face difficulties needs to be improved.The observation of the above aspects shows that the children have not been fully developed in the theme activities,and the effectiveness of the implementation of the theme activities is low.On this basis,we discussed and analyzed the reasons for the ineffective implementation of thematic activities,mainly in the following aspects: teachers’ factors,teachers’ unclear understanding of the value of thematic activities,lack of effective design of thematic activities,lack of organization of activities from children’s perspective,lack of interaction and communication with parents and the community,lack of observation ability and lack of reflection ability on activities;kindergarten environment factors,lack of building an effective teaching and learning platform among teachers and lack of evaluation mechanism.The kindergarten environment,the lack of a platform for effective teaching and learning among teachers,and the lack of evaluation mechanisms.Finally,we propose countermeasures to improve the effectiveness of implementing theme activities in the middle class from four aspects: teachers establish correct educational and teaching concepts,effectively design theme activities,optimize the implementation of theme activities,and scientifically evaluate theme activities.
