Social withdrawal behavior refers to children’s solitary behavior in social or peer situations,including three types of withdrawn silence,active withdrawal and passive withdrawal.Social withdrawal has many effects on children’s emotions,social interactions,and even their physical and mental health.Senior kindergarten children are currently in an important period of social development,mainly focusing on unconscious attention.Picture books are considered the most suitable reading material for children due to their graphical and textual relationships,rich and diverse connotations and easy to understand content.In previous studies,most of the intervention methods for social withdrawal children are focusing on single game intervention or social skill training.This study takes picture books with social ability as the carrier,and integrates reading,discussion,games,performances,and conversations as a theme activity to conduct comprehensive intervention for children,thereby effectively improving the social withdrawal behavior of children in the Senior kindergarten.This study adopts a case study of three young children in the Senior kindergarten of H kindergarten in Guiyang City as research subjects.First of all,through questionnaire evaluation,participatory observation and interviews with teachers and parents,the performance of children’s social withdrawal behavior is analyzed,and the factors causing social withdrawal are analyzed.Secondly,based on the picture book as the carrier,the researcher corrects the social withdrawal behavior of the individual cases and organizes relevant plans.In the process of intervention,the research plans will be adjusted appropriately according to the specific performance of the individual cases.Finally,according to the testing results and implementation effect of the plans,the practical analysis and educational strategies are obtained.The conclusions of this study are as follows: The first and third social withdrawal children’s total scores of the questionnaire decreased to varying degrees,this phenomenon indicates that picture books are an effective carrier to improve social withdrawal behavior of children in the Senior kindergarten.Secondly,there are individual differences between different withdrawal children.Therefore,it is necessary to select different theme activities based on the types of withdrawal children,and the metaphorical value of picture stories should be conveyed to children by alternative reinforcement,to reduce children’s social withdrawal tendencies in a targeted manner.Thirdly,teachers’ timely guidance in the theme activities can enhance children’s game participation and ensure the smooth progress of the activities,which plays an important role in improving children’s social withdrawal behavior.Fourthly,home cooperation is an important means to improve social withdrawal,early childhood education needs the joint efforts of families and kindergartens.Therefore,it is necessary to form a benign cooperation led by kindergartens and assisted by families.Based on the findings,this study proposes three specific suggestions:kindergarten should play a leading role in ensuring the development of the research programs on children’s social withdrawal behavior;Teachers play the role of "supporters" to promote the development of research programs on children’s social withdrawal behavior;Parents play the role of "facilitators" to assist in the improvement the research programs on social withdrawal behaviour of young children.The social withdrawal revealed in this study aims to attract the attention from all aspects and promote the social development of children.On the basis of this study,future research can further expand the number of research samples,include more diverse research groups and more abundant research data,so as to form a more profound understanding and understanding of social withdrawal of children and their education issues.
