Rural middle school physical education teachers as the cornerstone of rural physical education,rural middle school physical education teachers have received attention from various sectors of society in recent years.The continuous presentation of their professional survival issues has also become a focus of discussion among many scholars.In rural areas,physical education teachers are important disseminators of sports development,and it can be seen that the professional survival status of rural physical education teachers directly reflects the teaching and living conditions of the group of physical education teachers in poverty-stricken rural schools.This paper is supported by field theory and lifelong learning theory,and introduces the concept of "professional survival" into the practical investigation and theoretical analysis of rural physical education teachers for investigation and analysis.This study used the methods of literature,questionnaire,mathematical statistics,field research,interviews and other research methods to investigate and analyze the professional survival of rural PE teachers in rural areas of Xingyi City(Cangjiang Town,Qishe Town,Zerong Town,Zhengtun Town,Wusha Town,Canggeng Town,etc.),mainly from the gender,age,educational background,professional title of teachers;Teacher job satisfaction;Teacher burnout;Teacher’s professional identity;Professional pressure for teachers;A survey was conducted on the professional development of teachers and the following conclusions were drawn:1.The basic situation of the professional survival status of physical education teachers in rural middle schools in Xingyi City:(1)Physical education teachers have low satisfaction with material life fields such as salary and working conditions;(2)Physical education teachers have more part-time jobs and a low sense of professional achievement,and there are significant differences in salary settlement compared to other disciplines,indirectly indicating the low social status of rural middle school physical education teachers;(3)Some physical education teachers have poor mastery of professional and practical knowledge in their professional development,limited on-the-job training in continuing education,and neglect of scientific research;(4)The overall workload of physical education teachers is relatively high,with average levels of achievement and professional belonging,and a relatively serious tendency to resign.2.The existing problems in the professional survival status of rural middle school physical education teachers in Xingyi City include:(1)the group of rural middle school physical education teachers faces contemporary social value conflicts and public cognitive biases;(2)There is a lag in the cultural construction of humanistic care for rural middle school physical education teachers in schools;(3)Teaching to the test has a great impact on the professional survival situation of physical education teachers in rural middle schools.The special field of rural middle schools has no small constraints on the teaching environment.(4)The professional identity of rural middle school physical education teachers is seriously insufficient,and the single professional knowledge structure leads to a dilemma for the survival and development of rural middle school physical education teachers’ profession.3.Based on the research on the survival status and difficulties of physical education teachers in rural middle schools in Xingyi City,the following countermeasures are proposed:(1)The Education Bureau and schools should continuously improve relevant policies,regulations,and guarantee systems to reduce the worries of teachers in teaching accidents and increase their salaries and benefits;(2)Building a socially recognized value system,establishing a caring image to reduce bias and enhance the social status of physical education teachers;(3)Optimize the educational and cultural environment of the school,create a good educational environment and standardized teaching management system;(4)Enhance teachers’ awareness of self improvement and accelerate the professionalization process of rural physical education teachers. |
