On March 20 th,2020,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council promulgated the Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening Labor Education in Colleges,Middle Schools and Primary Schools in the New Era,and in July of the same year,the Ministry of Education promulgated the Guiding Outline of Labor Education in Colleges,Middle Schools and Primary Schools(Trial),which made a top-level design for strengthening labor education in colleges,middle schools and primary schools in the new era from the policy level and further clarified the status of labor education,as well as provided systematic and comprehensive guidance on the content and objectives,methods and evaluation,planning and implementation of labor education in primary and secondary schools.As one of the important contents of labor education,housework is of great significance for elementary school students to establish correct labor concepts,develop good labor habits and master basic living skills.This study takes the current situation of elementary school students’ participation in housework as the theme,and on the basis of combing the relevant policies on labor education and research results,this study investigates the current situation of 72 elementary school students’ participation in housework in community D of Huanggang City by using interview method.The contents of the survey mainly covers the following: Firstly,in terms of the types of housework participation,most elementary school students participate in housework such as sweeping and mopping the floor,wiping the table,taking out the garbage,tidying up the desk and washing dishes.Secondly,in terms of the length of participation in housework,the average length of students’ daily participation in housework is less than 30 minutes.Thirdly,in terms of motivation for participating in housework,more than half of the students’ motivation for participating in housework is external,that is,the purpose of housework participation is alienated into a means of obtaining material rewards or escaping from school.Fourthly,students learn and master housework skills mainly through two ways: imitation and self-learning,and explanation by others.By investigating the current situation of elementary school students’ housework participation,it is found that there are differences in housework participation among different ages,sexes and whether they are the only child groups,and the specific differences are described in detail.Based on the survey on the current situation of elementary school students’ participation in housework,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the present situation of primary school students’ participation in housework by using Marxist labor view,Tao Xingzhi’s life education theory and gender theory,and found that the current social transmission of the values of housework,the lack of school housework education,and parents’ "agency" in housework are the main factors affecting elementary school students’ participation in housework.In this regard,this paper intends to put forward relevant suggestions to promote primary school students’ active participation in housework from different perspectives,including four aspects:schools and parents should attach importance to elementary school students’ participation in housework,pay attention to gender differences in elementary school students’ participation in housework,cultivate and stimulate the internal motivation of elementary school students’ participation in housework,and improve the home-school coordination mechanism for housework education. |
