| Gratitude,as one of the important personality traits in positive psychology,has attracted much attention in recent years.Many theoretical studies have shown that labor plays a positive role in promoting gratitude among children,but there are few empirical studies.In this paper,from the perspective of gratitude trait of positive psychology and starting point of labor education,which is increasingly valued by the country and society,the feasibility of household work to improve the level of gratitude to parents of primary school students is discussed from the following two aspects: In study 1,a total of 817 senior primary school students were randomly selected from five primary schools of different types in Yunnan Province.The Gratitude Parents Questionnaire and the Labor Quality Questionnaire were used to carry out the investigation,and the influencing factors and the correlation between the two were analyzed.Study 2 is an intervention study on gratitude group counseling for primary school students.Based on the current investigation and correlation results of Study 1,combined with gratitude theory and life education theory of "doing,knowing and doing",a group counseling intervention program of "housework +" gratitude theme was designed by a mixed experiment.36 eligible fifth-grade primary school students were selected as the study subjects to conduct the intervention study(18 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group).Before and after the implementation of the intervention study,pre-test,post-test and follow-up post-test were conducted on the two groups of subjects respectively.By combining the results of the two parts,the following main conclusions can be drawn:(1)The overall situation of gratitude towards parents among senior primary school students is at an upper level.Among them,the score of gratitude cognition is the highest,while the score of gratitude behavior is the lowest.There is a phenomenon of disconnection between knowledge and behavior in the current situation of grateful parents.From the perspective of demography variables,there are significant differences in the level of gratitude parents of senior primary school students in terms of gender,grade,age,and parents’ education level.Girls’ gratitude parents level is significantly higher than boys,fifth grade students’ gratitude parents level is significantly higher than sixth grade students,and rural students are significantly higher than urban students in gratitude cognition and gratitude emotion dimensions;Left behind students have significantly higher levels of gratitude cognition than non left behind students;Students who serve as class leaders have significantly higher levels of gratitude than students who do not serve as class leaders.However,there were no significant differences in whether they were only children,class cadres,single parent families,and left behind children.(2)The overall labor quality of senior primary school students is at an intermediate to upper level.Among them,the score for labor attitude is the highest,and the score for labor knowledge is the lowest.From the perspective of demography variables,there are significant differences in gender,grade and age in the labor quality of senior primary school students.The overall labor quality of female students is significantly higher than that of male students.The overall labor situation of fifth grade students is significantly higher than that of sixth grade students.Students whose parents’ education level is graduate students are significantly higher in terms of labor habits than those whose parents’ education level is elementary school students;Students who serve as class cadres have significantly higher labor perspectives,labor habits,and labor abilities than students who do not serve as class cadres.Left behind students have significantly higher labor habits and abilities than non left behind students.However,there were no significant differences in terms of student origin,parents’ education level,whether they were only children,whether they were class cadres,whether they were single parent families,and whether they were left behind.(3)There is a positive correlation between gratitude towards parents and labor quality among senior primary school students,and labor quality has a predictive effect on gratitude towards parents,especially in terms of gratitude behavior.(4)The gratitude group counseling intervention plan designed in this study has certain effectiveness.The effect of "household chores+" gratitude group counseling is better than that of gratitude group counseling,which can effectively improve students’ level of gratitude to parents and labor quality,stimulate the generation of gratitude behavior,and the effect is timely and sustainable.In summary,family labor education in the new era has rich value implications,which deepen the integration of school household chores into mental health education and gratitude group counseling.Family school collaboration in education truly unleashes the vitality of family labor education in education. |
