A Study On The Case Management Of Vulnerable Children By The W Organization In Wenshan City

Children,as the hope for the future development of the country,should receive more protection and attention from society.In recent years,the problems of vulnerable children have become increasingly prominent.Paying attention to and solving the problems of vulnerable children is the inevitable responsibility of social work.This article takes the vulnerable children served by the W Organization(hereinafter referred to as the "W Organization")in Wenshan City as the object,and conducts research on the individual case management of vulnerable children through the service mode of case management.In the study,starting from six steps of case acceptance,pre-assessment,formulating plans,intervention services,evaluation and case closure,conducting social background investigations before accepting cases,and conducting follow-up work after case closure to provide services for disadvantaged children.According to the theory of social support networks,in the service process,emphasis is placed on the social interaction and support networks of the clients.By linking resources,the social support,community and school attention of the clients are strengthened.At the same time,it assists in improving the ability of the client’s family and supports the growth of the client.Through peer relationship guidance,learning legal knowledge,participating in group work,etc.,it corrects the client’s bad behavior and corrects cognitive biases.The organization-oriented model is adopted in individual case management to provide services.The organization is the main body of service,and according to the needs of the clients,social workers suitable for providing services to them are selected.The research shows that case management has unique advantages in serving vulnerable children.On the one hand,social workers provide services to clients through resource linking,intervention services of other social work methods and regular interviews,improve the education and emotional support abilities of client families,and meet the educational and emotional needs of clients.Through case management services,correct clients’ bad behaviors,correct cognitive biases,enhance clients’ self-confidence,change bad health and behavioral habits.On the other hand,case management can strengthen the interaction between social organizations and grassroots social work,promote multi-departmental cooperation,and solve complex problems of clients.At the same time,the organization-oriented case management model is based on service agencies and has the advantages of one-stop,comprehensive evaluation,transparent operation and teamwork.It has an overall service strategy for clients’ problems.In practice,it is found that the professional quality and ability of social workers still need to be improved;case management requires social workers to have stronger professionalism and comprehensive ability;the resource integration ability of W Organization is insufficient and the resource platform provided for clients is limited;the evaluation stage of services needs to be further strengthened;and the social recognition of social workers needs to be improved.In response to the inadequacies in the individual case management service for vulnerable children,it is necessary to strengthen the professional quality of social workers,improve the professionalism and comprehensive ability of social workers in case management;enhance the resource integration ability of institutions and provide more resource platforms for clients;improve social workers’ social recognition;and improve the institutional case management mechanism.
