| Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),the Party Central Committee,with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core,has stood at the height of national governance and pointed out the development direction for university governance.In the context of governance era,it should not only be the modernization of governance system and governance ability,but also the modernization of governance subjects,while in reality,the governance power of university stakeholders in China does not reach the ideal state,or even contradicts it,especially as the subject of university-students’ power is weak,and students’ participation in university governance is long-standing but "insignificant".The practice of student participation in governance also has little and unsatisfactory results.Thus,how to effectively bring into play the power of student subject participation and improve the effectiveness of participation becomes the focus of this article’s research.Based on the students’ perspective,the article explores the countermeasure suggestions to improve the effectiveness of students’ participation in college governance practice from the perspective of college students’ organizational citizenship behavior.By combing through the relevant research literature,the researcher put forward two research hypotheses namely: 1.students’ participation in university governance is ineffective 2.students’ organizational citizenship behavior and students’ participation in governance have significant correlation.Based on the research hypothesis,the current situation of student participation in university governance is explored through questionnaires and interviews,and the relationship between student participation in governance and organizational citizenship behavior of university students is explored through correlation analysis and regression analysis with the frequency of student participation in university governance as a combination point,and the following conclusions are obtained: The students’ participation attitude is relatively negative and the effect is not ideal;The higher the level of organizational citizenship behavior of college students,the higher the frequency of their participation in university governance.Based on the conclusions obtained from quantitative research,the researcher explores the factors influencing students’ participation in university governance from the perspective of students’ organizational citizenship behavior,and extracts the core categories through qualitative research and coding of interview data,and gets the factors influencing students’ participation in university governance as follows: self level(role orientation,cognitive differences);participation level(participation guarantees,participation procedures);organizational level,i.e.group support.Based on the quantitative and qualitative research results,the researcher will summarise and analyse the problems and causes of student engagement in university governance,and then discuss countermeasures and proposals for student engagement in university governance: firstly,at the level of students,focus on cultivating students’ awareness of participation,tapping the potential of governance,and setting up positive role models to help improve students’ participation ability;Secondly,at the level of participation,we should strengthen the establishment and improvement of the system of student participation in governance and the incentive and guarantee mechanism,and at the same time,we should clarify the boundary of student participation to provide operational guidelines for student participation in governance;Finally,at the organizational level,teachers’ guidance should be brought into play while focusing on creating a good collective atmosphere and an excellent governance culture to achieve comprehensive support for student participation in governance and ultimately improve the effectiveness of participation. |
