Geography plays an important role in the cultivation of students’ practical ability.At present,the research on geography practical ability mainly focuses on the concept,structure division and influencing factors.The research on the influencing factors of geography practical ability mainly focuses on the behavior of families,schools and teachers.There are few studies on the influence of peers on geography practical ability and the influence of students’ internal psychological factors on geography practical ability.Therefore,from the perspective of external peer factors and internal self-efficacy,this paper combines internal and external factors to explore the influence of peer support on the cultivation of geographical practice ability and its mechanism.This study mainly uses questionnaire survey method to obtain relevant data,supplemented by experimental method and interview method to verify the results of questionnaire analysis.Peer support in the study includes emotional support and learning ability support.Geographical practice self-efficacy includes ability,effort,control and environment.Students’ geography practical ability includes: the ability to put forward and solve geography problems,the ability to implement geography practical activities,the ability to use geography tools,the ability to observe and investigate geography,and the attitude and innovation ability of geography practice.The study found that:(1)The geographical practice ability of the respondents was at a medium level.Specifically,the students’ geographical practice attitude and innovation ability,the ability to use geographical tools and the ability to put forward and solve geographical problems developed well,but their geographical observation and investigation ability and the implementation ability of geographical practice activities were relatively weak.There is no difference in students’ geographical practice ability between gender,household registration and whether they are class student cadres.(2)Peer support has a significantly positive predictive effect on geographical practice,and the predictive effect of peer learning ability support on geographical practice is stronger than that of peer emotional support.(3)Peer support and geographical practice self-efficacy have obvious direct and positive effects on geographical practice,and peer support has obvious indirect effects on geographical practice.The influence path of peer support on geographical practice is: peer support→geographical practice self-efficacy→geographical practice.Geographical practice self-efficacy plays an obvious partial intermediary role between peer support and geographical practice.Based on the analysis results,peer support has a positive effect on students’ geographical practice ability,and geographical practice self-efficacy plays an intermediary role in the process of its influence.We should pay attention to the strength of peers to evaluate and promote students’ mutual support in teaching;pay attention to the cultivation of students’ geographical practice self-efficacy,promote the improvement of students’ practical ability in geography practice.
