When people talk about take-out riders,they mostly associate them directly with "take-out boys".Traditionally,the image of take-out riders has been dominated by masculinity,and female take-out riders have been marginalized.However,in the era of new media,female take-out riders can use short videos to showcase themselves and pursue their subjective values in the process of self-presentation,reconstructing their identity and recognition in interaction with others.This study takes dramaturgical theory and identity theory as the starting point and adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods to investigate the Tik Tok short video practices of female take-out riders.The study focuses on their selfimage shaping and identity construction.The research findings indicate that firstly,female take-out riders present diverse images on Tik Tok.Overall,they exhibit an optimistic and positive attitude,portraying a hardworking,independent,and determined image.In terms of differences,female take-out riders on Tik Tok create classic self-images such as "single mothers who take on multiple jobs and responsibilities","motorcycle female riders who love freedom","omniscient station chiefs who are dedicated to works","dream-chasing girls" and "courageous take-out queen",vividly showcasing the wonderful "her power".Secondly,the self-presentation strategies of female take-out riders mainly include three aspects: authentic representation of the true self,performative representation of the ideal self,and self-adjustment in interactive feedback.Their main intrinsic motivations for self-expression include material needs,social needs,and psychological needs such as following the trends,expressing themselves,and seeking respect and recognition.Their self-presentation is accompanied by constant reflection and interactive adjustments.Their self-presentation on Tik Tok affects the reconstruction of their self-identity,and the construction of their self-identity can also in turn affect their self-representation.Thirdly,in terms of identity construction,female take-out riders use self-reflection,interactive reflection,and meaning production to achieve self-identification through self-presentation.They also follow the path of self-categorization,circle interaction and active differentiation to complete their social identification.However,in the pursuit of visibility,attention,and benefits,there may be a risk of being digitally alienated and facing identity crises.
